Who says Vortech can't make big power - Part 2

Great Dyno Lou Zer.....Must have ran race gas , methenol sprayer, or NO2 and no timing being pulled to get the big number on 10 psi . That intercooler just plain will not flow enough air to support 475whp . 10psi seem rather low for the 2.87 pulley , did you put on a wastegate and boost controler ? So tell us what you did to get the number up there

The dyno is from the initial tune. We still plan to do more things in the near future, which is why we didn't spend hours upon hours getting the A/F perfect. I have all the faith in the world in my tuner. The main object was to get the car running again. We were all surprised about the power it put down so I decided to post up the results. Think what you want. The car feels/runs great.
Bill, I don't know what to tell you. Everything that is on my car is in my sig. It was tuned with 91 octane, no methenol sprayer or NO2 at all. The difference seemed to be adding the timing back. The boost dropped to around 10psi after installing the test pipes, but the horsepower went up. Like I said, we were all shocked with the number. But it is accurate. Confirmed on the dyno and on the street against APS TT 350Z's.

I don't have a chart, but I can do a pull on the street and let you know what psi I am making at what rpm. From what I remember at 3000rpm, it was making around 4 psi at 4000rpm it was making around 5.5psi at 5500 it was making around 7.5-8psi and at 6500rpms it was making like 10.2.
Cool... great numbers...how much timing were you able to put back in ? Im still pulling 1/2 degree for every 1psi up to 6500rpm and then 8 degree's after that . Wanted to keep it safe till I found a way to monitor knock , other than watching the OBDII .
What up Lou, "hey why don't you get another tuner" LMAO. First of all that was not the A/f Reading from the dyno. They don't rely on A/F from the dyno they use their own FJO to tune. Thats what Rob and Vince go by as far as I know. I asked them the same question and like booger mentioned not enought air. To say their tuning sucks is a big mistake, Vince has done amazing projects.

i am very new to tuning my own car and dialed in the A/F on 3 different boost levels in about an hour-1.5 hrs...
sorry to say, but the A/F curve on that dyno sheet looks like they threw in some values for A/F...ran the car once...and then said, "let's call it a day"
I too am very new to tuning, but tuning something like the Split Second box that lets you adjust parameters every 500 rpms (especially with a finiky car) can be trying. I watched Ralph and Eric at CP Racing take OVER 6 HOURS to get my tune as near perfect as they could.
If you have E-manage or something better and can put in a gazillion parameters every few rpms then you can nail the A/F more quickly (I guess).

Vortech doesn't have the same software like the Greddy or APS which i know you are aware of. I've heard its more difficult to dial in. Here's an example of another "crappy" dyno.

I was short on my answer before, sorry. What i was told is that they don't use the dyno's A/F so it can say whatever it wants in reason of course. They go by their own A/F (FJO i believe) and what the laptop they use for tuning says.
Why is everyone so skeptical and quick to bash the guys dyno sheet for anyways. I just think that calling anyone a bad tuner just by the looks of 1 dyno sheet and not knowing the whole story is rude and inappropriate. I mean we all know Sharif and PHunk know what they're doing, so if they posted a dyno that was rich or lean, I wouldn't go, "hey looks like you need a new tuner". No, I might ask "hey any reason why its so rich or lean."
Just thought i'd clear some of that up.

Wow, a Vortech makes 475 to the wheels and all you can see is the A/F on the graph. Especially when I state that it was from the initial tune after having the engine installed. By no means is the A/F where I or the tuner wants it to be. The idea was to get the car running. We did that and then some. It would take hours to tune because the split second box is outdated as is stated above. More mods are coming before the final tune. If all of you nay-sayers would take the time to read the posts, you would see that I have already stated this.
I was just trying to let everyone know that the Vortech is capable of making good power. Especially for those who own Vortechs and doubt its cababilities. And that you can keep pace with turbo cars using a supercharger. Of course a supercharger will never deliver the torque numbers a turbo can, but it can compete horsepower wise. So for those of you that care about making more power with their superchargers, I will continue to update my progress as we add mods and then finally tune it with a better A/F when it's complete.
For all of the others... I guess we will argue for entertainment. My **** sucks, your **** sucks, blah, blah, blah.

I agree with LouZer here...
475rwhp with a Vortech is impressive. I can the mods in his sig. I have a pretty good idea how they got it there and with his set up and more tuning time it sounds like they can dial in some more power. Good Work!
