Default Flex-A-Lite OE replacment fans update.

So I actually got a hold of Flex-A-Lite today. Apparentely they have the 350Z application on the board for development but have at least one other project ahead. I tried to stress to this guy how many of us are f/i these days and how running for instance the Koyo radiator means we have to actually cut our stock fans and that we could REALLY use a Slimline set up for the car. He said he added the note to their development tracking system. Apparentely they take record of how many inquiries they get for new product. Possibly to use as a tool to judge which product to develop first. Maybe a couple other people want to call them up and ask? I know I aint the only one eyeing the Koyo radiator for price but that doesn't want to cut the stock fans to make it work...Not to mention that even Flex-A-Lits smaller size fans will flow more air then our stock ones... heres the number: 1-800-851-1510 option 4 is what I used and I talked to Bob.

Thats weird, with my install of the radiator I didn't have to do any triming of any sort and the my turbonetics kit fit...pain in the A*S but it worked. The stock fans are about maybe a inch or so from the radiator.- Koyo radiator

I had to trim mine when the Koyo was installed and I called Flex-O-Lite to go on record as wanting them to develop a product for us. Bob says he's send an inquiry to engineering to pursue it. Atta boy, Miaplaya!

Any updates on the fans? Some of the threads seem to suggest that there is already a fan out there, but I haven't seen anything on the Flex-A-Lite website.

These are REALLY nice fans. I just helped a buddy do a honda swap and he used a flex fan. I installed it and these fans are top notch! It would be nice if they made one for the G/350z.

I'm sure their fans. Not to hijack the thread, but I used SPAL fans with the Koyo Rad and Vortech install...they fit real nice and move lots of air.

....also, note that the "spiral" fans are a bit quieter, but they tend to move less air.

MIAPLAYA,

Is this what you're looking for? Flex-a-lite #220 - 2500CFM twin 12" 10 blade 21 degree fans. 15 1/2" high x 26 1/4" wide x 2 5/8" deep. Leaves lots of room. I've been running this set up for over 6 months.

Thats exactly what I'm looking for. Do those bolt right up to the stock radiator? If so what was the cost of those?

Flex gives you these like zip locks that you slide through the Rad. Its REALLY easy to install them.

Well I'm hoping Flex-a=lite makes an OE replacement like they do for other cars. They typically bolt right to the stock rad and plug into the stock harnesses.

I wonder if they make a small one for oil coolers. Once i get my oil temp guage I would like to have it kick on at a certain temp then shut off automatically. That way if its cold out it doesn't turn on.

You could use the HKS Fan Controller for that: http://www.hksusa.com/products/more.asp?id=1697

The Flex-a-lite #220 Fans come with four nylon mounting brackets as well as a through-the-core mounting system. I modify two of the nylon brackets for the upper mounts and make the two lower brackets out of strap aluminum. I highly recommend not using the through-the-core system, not now - not ever.

By the way this fan setup is not a direct replacement for the factory fans, either mechanically or electrically.

PM me if you want more info.
