Default Turbonetics owners...

I was wanting to know how you Turbonetics owners setups are holding up after time? After physical therapy today I decided to stop by the shop where I used to get my accessories for my cars to talk to the owner about my getting a Z and if they were interested in sponsoring me again since they decided to sponsor my old car before my accident. He was telling me about the Greddy TT and I mentioned that Turbonetics has a kit for the Z and his eyes lit up telling me that that kit is the Kit to get and that Turbonetics makes great products. You guys agree, this the best way to go for a weekend track car? I had planned on the HKS S/C but he told me to go turbo and that I won't regret it. I'm a noob with engines so I can only rely on what I'm told.

Did some searching and couldn't find much info on this last question I have. Is this Single Turbo setup applical with an automatic? Seems that I have to get an automatic with the problems with my arm. I thought it was getting better but I was pushing for speedy recovery too hard and gave myself a setback hurting it again.

Tnetics just finished up a kit for the auto. I am still waiting to hear back on if it has a problem in full-auto mode shifting at WOT (the common problem is with FI your RPMs increase too fast and the tranny can't shift fast enough and you bounce off the rev limiter). I am sure like other FI for the auto if you shift with the +/- mode it is fine. I might be mistaken, but the Tnetics kit for auto is the first FI kit designed specificly for the automatic version... I think the other fi kids will fit but are the same kits you buy for the 6mt. If this info is wrong please let me know.

From what I have heard and seen I am impressed with the SGP valve body upgrades, which my prove to solve the shift at WOT problem... however again the jury is still out on that. I have heard (never seen myself) that some people run the vortech on the auto and then just get their revlimiter bumped up to 7200 and that gives them enough to shift before you hit the limit in full auto mode... but I have heard some people say thats not enough and that this may not be the best solution.

For whatever its worth, if I was sponcered I would take the Tnetics over the HKS even though they are both great kits... (thats based on what I have read about each kit not any real exp with either)

The Turbonetics kit for the 5AT is out and about now. It is specifically designed for the 5AT including a revlimiter bump to help with shifting. 6MT rev limiter is set at 6750. 5AT kit is set to 7100. Hope that helps..

Just out of curiousity (and if I'm not intruding by asking), what happened that you're going through this PT?

In June I was hit head-on by an electric company truck at 60 mph when he came around a curce compeletely in my lane. So far I'v had to have my ulnar nerve in my arm release from being pinned behind my elbow, a scope shoved through minimin into my bladder to find out why I'm still pissing blood, scar tissue cut off one of my kidneys and now I have to do PT for my back because my MRI I had done 3 weeks ago shows I have 2 bulged disks. We are hoping getting me back to work on light duty and PT for my back will help, if its not better when I see them in a month they said they may have to shave the disks which is one thing that sounds like it can do more damage than good.

It was in a thread started by an unathorized vendor that was removed; Anyway this is great news for the 5AT owners that want to go FI but were worried about some of the issues. I have a friend who was thinking about the vortech and then having the reflash done by a different company and he didn't like that idea since vortech never tested it together. Since this kit has been tested around the rev limit increase I am sure he will feel much better about using this instead of the vortech.

Anybody have 0-60 times with this kit? Can it compete with the WRX STI?

Is this turbo set up CARB legal?

Lol STI???? No comparsion!!! Not to brag, but i beat a viper over the weekend by almost two cars!!! Along with many other people with the turbonetics kit, as for zero to sixty i wouldn't no,, that doesn't matter because you hit 60 so fast. Its all about the roll... 2nd gear 40mph roll!!! CASH MONEY
Look at the fi vids, the turbonetics Z beats a full bolt on plus cam z28 ss, and the formula and z06.

Haha during Nopi weekend on the hwy a Acura NSX was coming on me hard (not sure of the year since the exterior design is very similar)... So I thought why not... When he got close I gune'd it and pulled hard on him... After slowing down letting him catch up again he was all smiles and giving me props... I don't know his mods, and this took place before the car was running right... But others who were around us enjoyed the run

Actually it was kinda strange how other people in other cars were giving me thumbs up and stuff
