Default Jerking w/ Vortech

Lately I have notice that there is jerking while I am driving without even getting on the accelerator. When it happens I get on it and it stops. Also, I notice that there is quick fluctuation in the rpms. It happens mostly in 3rd, 5th, 6th gears. Any suggestions on what the problem could be? Thank you.

That is one thing that I am missing, a wideband O2 gauge. Though, when the car was dynoed it was pretty much in the normal range. Also, the jerking happens when I am not even boosting. I can have my foot on the accelerator at a steady speed.

could be something simple... have you tried cleaning the MAF? I've had a similar problem on my VW and cleaning the MAF makes it go away.

Was your SS box connected to the ECU harness via snap connectors or was it soldered? Be sure that every connection is tight and, if not soldered, you may want to do this.

I'm pretty sure your engine has already thrown codes so you may want to go down to your local AutoZone and have them connect their code reader for free. This will tell you what's really going on.

Check engine light never came on though. Would those be different type of codes that do not affect the check engine light?

Check your intercooling piping, I had one pop off and on the interstate I had the same thing happen to me. Would run but sputter when under load.

JonathanG35 : I have the stock clutch, but I rarely get really hard on it.

Cprace2: I did have it custom tuned.

350Zenophile: I checked the belt and play in it seems proper enough. I doubt there is any slippage.

ryan350Z- I will check on the piping today.

EVERYBODY: Thank you for your prompt reponses!!! I hope this issue can be solved soon. Also are there any tips on cleaning the MAF? Thank you.

I forgot to mention that after changing the battery the car seem to run fine for awhile. Sputtering did eventually come back. Seems as if after ECU was resetted the car ran fine. I hope that can help better explain situation.

Is it always in the same rpm range? It may be the tune. Might be too rich in that area

Any big changes in weather or did you happen to move, also I agree with booger check both or those out. What I think is weird you said it stopped doing it after you reset the ECU? Try resetting it again and see if it stops for a little bit if it does it sounds like something in the ECU, but no codes right?

Yeah, check engine light has not came on yet. I never messed with the bov. I am going to read it to see if there are any hidden ones.
