Default so now my IC is full of oil...

i pulled off the lower IC coupler today and a quart of oil pours out of the IC. due to APSs thoughtfully engineered design of the turbo location, i assume the turbo is becoming flooded with oil and going thru the seals causing oil to be blown to the IC. WONDERFUL!!!

it must be an installation problem. i know somebody else was having this problem but i cant remember who.

new week, new problem.

The APS dealer/GRD installs don't seem to have these sorts issues. I think APS advertising that anybody good with a "spanner" could install this kit may have been a bit misleading. I decided against self installing, even though it was at a dealership after reading some of the installation difficulties people were having.

From what I've read, I think this kit has to be installed by someone with a lot of APS experience. Have you considered taking it to someone who's done some of these installs?

Hopefully the cause of your oil problem is just a small install issue like your boost drop and an easy fix. Good luck.

i dont think it has anything to do with being an authorized installer, unless APS tells installers certain "tricks" to make things less of a headache. if you follow the instructions thats all you can do. the problems im having arent mysteries or anything difficult. there is only 1 way to screw in a bolt. the main problem with this oil issue was APSs mistake in the first place by not including the g35 wiring diagrams with the kit. i wired the pump up wrong because of their mistake. the boost issue isnt completely resolved either, as other people with the kit are having the same issue. im having a Vband clamp welded in place of the 4 bolt flange on the xover pipe tomorrow.

was your car smoking too? Did this oil make it up to the MAF housing and intake?

no my car rarely smokes, sometimes i see oil dripping between the exhaust/dp flange. last time i checked the maf and intake was clear, i guess it doesnt aerosolize enough to make it that far.

So this oil hasnt come in through the intake manifold as a result of blow by and accumulated over time in your intercooler?

This isnt a blow-by issue, as the oil is coming in prior to the introduction of the PCV venting hoses. This oil is coming from the turbocharger assembly, so a catch can would not help in this case.

hmm. heres an update, i removed everything and the turbo outlet to the IC is completely dry, not a drop of oil. from there the IC pipes makes a few sharp bends then down to the IC. i removed the intake pipe and oil residue was also in it, not to the TB but there was oil all over the MAF. help me here, if the check valve on the oil sending unit doesnt allow oil to pass unless the car is cranked (per APS), and the feed line is elevated higher than the turbo, gravity shouldnt allow oil to fill the turbo from there. also the sump pump shouldnt allow oil to drain to the turbo either. well then, where the hell is the oil coming from. i had this same problem a while back when i hooked the sump up wrong (again per APS).

and would all this oil cause my boost loss issues? MAF covered in oil? anybody?
