Question Wondering bout turbo?

I really want to turbo my 05Z, and was wondering who gives you the best bang for the buck (value, performence, etc). Yes I know it's not as "pimp" as M/T, but I really don't like shifting so I got the auto. I don't even know a turbo would work with auto. Keep in mind i'm new to all this so any help will be greatly appreciated.

Go to the forced induction section. Read all the threads on there about what you want. yes turbo will work with auto. Id say APS single turbo for bang for buck but just go look around.

No question that the best bang for the buck is the Turbonetics turbo if your looking for an out of the box kit. You can pick up a TN kit for about $4300, and the install is the cheapest as well. Auto's are fine as long as you have it modified to perform.

Auto= Supercharger best combo easier to control constant power unlike turbo... wont be able to find power bad as effective as a mt car.

the crossover pipe was redesigned to fit better with the bigger auto tranny. And the flash has the rev limiter set at 7100 to make sure you can shift fine at WOT in auto mode. This has been an issue with all F/I 5AT cars and typically requires the technosquare ECU reflash to fix it. Turbonetics includes with the reflash on their kit for tuning.

So be honest, is it a good idea to turbo an auto? This is the first car i've ever owned (always had big trucks). I mean I don't want to spend the money if its not going to perform correctly, or i.e. get my *** spanked by a M/T with the same kit.

Your going to have to modify you transmision with a shift kit/valve body modification. Auto's can be made to perform very well. You don't lose boost during gear changes like you do with manual transmissions. Art Carr may make a shift kit for this tranny. I'm not sure who does it. Stillen may be another. Turbo's and auto's are an awesome combination. You will spank a MT car with a prepared auto tranny. Go with a trans brake if you have *****, and boost off the line. Seeeee ya MT !!!

Stillen Valve Body

The stillen valve body doesn't work to well with FI. SGP has a new body your looking for at $1200 plus install and removal. Check with sgp to see if you have to reflash the ecu for a higher rev limit. Also you will need a tranny cooler as well B&M makes a good one.
