I wouldn't mind paying the full cost if I can see pics and know that it fits on a 350Z.

If this replaces the combo-piece that Vortech uses, I know that I would be interested in getting this made.

He never did make one like I asked him to . He has a chit load of cars in his shop and said he hadnt found the time . I had left my 3 pieces of the MAF pipe for him to copy to make the single piece MAF . If one of you guys want it made for your self , I will take my MAF pipes back to him so he can copy them into a single .

Did you guys have to cut any off of the length of the 90 degree pipe? The pipe I got from Turbohoses is 10" from the center of the bend to the end of the pipe. Should it be more like 6" or less? From what I am seeing on my car, there will be too much pipe which will cause the filter to hit the vertical metal piece just below the hood latch. I think I will have to cut 4" minimum off both ends of the pipe.

How much did you have to cutt off the pipe to make it work Lou and Kevin?

I didn't have to cut anything off of the pipe. It is 12" total. 6" to the bend. I guess the mild steel is a different cut than the stainless steel.

would a shorter (say 3" to bend) work if you cut the silicone tube a little longer? or is the filter the problem?

Bill, could you possibly take a pic of the pipe as I may have my builder make one, or if possible could I pay your guy to make another one for me.

No. The pipe has to be long enough to come through the square hole and be able to tighten a hose clamp. It is already a PITA. 3" would put you directly underneath the square hole with no way to get a hose clamp on.

Yeah, the mild steel pipe is 20" in total length. I cut one end to about 8" (to the blower) and I cut the other to about 6" (filter end). I also had to cut the piece of silicon hose to about 5". Not to mentiojn, I had to Dremel the **** out of the plastic, as you showed Lou. I am still a little worried about getting to the filter. I am not sure if I can get to it or not without removing the bumper!

Did anyone experience a slight bending inward of the silicon hose due to the wierd angle of the hard pipe entering the tube? In one place, the silicon tube actually is dented inward about 1/4-1/2". I dont think this should be an issue as air should still be sucked in at the same rate as before. What is the purpose of the breather hose? I thought that was ONLY on the G35 but mine had it. I didnt order the filter because I didnt think I was suppose to have the breather line. Should I wait to get the filter before driving the car?

Thanks guys for all the help on finally resolving this issue!

I have the same dent in the silicon hose you are talking about. It is caused by the angle. My breather hose is just hanging right now. As far as I know, it is okay to drive with it hanging. I have had no issues.
