Turbonetics Detonating on 93 Octane
#227
UPDATE..... We tried intalling theTiaL 38mm wastegate which has more valve travel than the Evolution. It held boost lower than the Evolution, but boost still crept. So we installed the monster 48mm TurboSmart gate in another location to get better flow to the gate. We will try it tomrrow.
I drove the 12 hrs to get the TXS UTEC installed. Will post pics and results Thursay.

I dont know if this has already been stated but it could possibly because the boost could've been raised a little bit through the new exhaust because it is flowing more...or possible boost spiking because of the wastegate...I would definately check both of these!

Congrats on solving the issue JET. Thats great news.
So how did you mount it? Is it venting to atmosphere and if so is it LOUD?
Was it the dump pipe causing the issue or what? Trying to understand the issue with the WG angle. Got pics? Thx man.

You should have no problems detonating now... I am almost postive it was your tune before... I talked to my shop about this and they said that they were pretty sure that it had to do somthing with the tune... Since you you have the UTEC you should be set and hopefully have no more problems!!! Along with that IF you look at my pics... my waste gate also dumps out to the atmosphere!! pics.... www.putfile.com/d350z is yours like this????
