Thank you very much for the kind words...I'm always down to help...Hopefully the Turbonetics Owners Club page I've been working on will be up soon and it will help some more.

I have decided to install a 48mm Turbosmart wastegate replacing the 38mm Evolution that is included in the TN kit. I'm going to try to orient it in a way so the exhaust gas doesn't have to make a 90 degree turn to exit the up pipe to the dump tube. This reduces exhaust gas velocity tremendously.

I ordered the wastegate today, and I will have it installed next week. I will post my results.

Nice! I was looking at that one also and wondering if it will fit. I assume you are going to do some fabrication to make it work.
I'll be anxious to see your results.

I commend you for forging the trail. Good luck with it.

I am going to see if I can get an up pipe from TN without the wg hole or mount and I will figure some way to mount the new TurboSmart wg. I have no option here but to forge ahead and explore new territory.

I'm sure at this point that the new wg will be the solution.

JET, we're on the right path. Flipping the wastegate over and venting to atmosphere didn't help.....I was still able to pull 10.5 PSI in 3rd gear. Oh, and the car was VERY LOUD!!!!

Wow thats certainly a bigger gate. I was going to say a Tial 38 isn't much bigger then the Evolution (2MM) and might not have helped much. I'm gonna see if I can get another wastegate or another feed pipe from Turbonetics and weld two flanges on to make the return tube still functional for both gates (maybe two dump tubes) and send it to one of you to test.

Edit: Or figure out a way for the Newgen gate to fit..

HA...due to some vacuum mis-routing during my testing of the atmospheric WG dump tonight, I hit 20.1 PSI. Car still runs!!!

So heres a weird update. Turbonetics has been TRYING to cause an overboost via opening up the exhaust tract to see what the deal is. There is an 05 test car in the shop, with the stock exhaust 8 PSI. They completely removed the exhaust and still get 8 PSI. If the reduction in backpressure is the cause wouldn't dropping the exhaust cause this?

Actually heres an idea. Jetpilot, kcobean, or 35ounces could one of you unbolt the exhaust completely and take it around the block. See what boost you make.

I might be able to do that. Worst case scenario, I could do that when I'm swapping the stock exhaust back on.
