i love my Z, i mean i really love my freakin car, but the damn thing cannot hook up till 3rd gear, I got my car back about a month ago with custom exhaust, test pipes, HKS vpro ect. I had it with the emanage at 336hp 321lbt@5psi,
i made 453hp and 429lbt@8.5 psi now, but had it detuned to 2 setting 350@4.9psi and 426@7.5psi. The car was great at 336hp!! drove good, good gas MPG, and the take off. At 350hp 1-2nd gear, my car just goes sideways, and i mean like bad!!! Almost hit somebody, when i gassed 2nd gear from going sideways. 3rd gear is good, but damn i like to launch and do 30mph punches. I have 19.5 rears with 285/35 dunlop sp-9000, what can make this car hook up. On the highway its a beast, but on the street it sucks, I have noticed im kicking myself in the *** for spending about 5000.00 so my car can go sideways. I know about the AT and the LSD's but what can make this car put down 1-2 gear on a launch. Am i the only one having this problem?? i havent seen anyone ***** about. Im gonna sell my Z, if i cant get it to hook up.

I have Michelin PS2's 275. 366hp, and I can't hook too well either.
You can go with softer springs in the rear to improve weight transfer, lower tire rear tire pressure, increase rear wheel positive camber, and get a 295/30/19 tire. Or go with an 18 inch wheel which will give you the ability to run an R compund tire, or a drag radial.
Other than that.... sell the car and get a minivan.

Alot of high HP folks are running BFG KDW2's... They are fairly sticky. In any case, the power is going to take some getting used to.

I really do not have much problem with traction until the temp gets below like 50 and then only when trying to step into it from a start into a turn. I mean sure, if I dump the clutch at like 3500 I will get spin but just take it easy as you start out.
I am running 377 at the wheels now on a daily basis and 425 or so with my high boost setting. Planning a MUCH higher rwhp in another couple of months and still do not think I will have much of a problem if I feather the clutch right.
I could be wrong though....

Don't know much about them, but they sell traction arms for the 350z. Would those help?
Another great option would be to setup a staged boost program.1,2nd gear at 4.5 PSI, 3rd at 6PSI, and 4-6 at 9PSI. I rememebr this has been discussed but you should inquire that option.

My neighbor has a old camaro, with traction bars, i dunno what they are, he said he can launch with them better and hook up. what are those? Can they be fabricated for a Z? (things are ugly *** hell) Can someone fabricate custom gears, at a reasonable price?
anyways for better traction you can change your supsension out for one with adjustable dampeners, different spring rates, ect. you can get 275 drag radials, which will hook up REALLY well, as in, i doubt you will spin them unless you want to..... you can take a little bit of camber out of the rear like someone else mentioned. run a tire with a little more sidewall, get a progressive boost controller that lets you run different psi per rpm, so you smooth out your power band. that way you don't build instantly, but progressively. get a nismo lsd, or any other brand. DO YOU HAVE AN LSD? that would be my first concern, by far.
really, i'm just stating what everyone else already has, just in a nice runon sentence fashion. have fun! and make sure you have a good LSD!
if having weight in the rear helps, you could add some more stuff back there. many racecars put lead weights at certain parts of the vehicle to improve the traction and meet minimum weight requirements. perhaps a nice big stereo system in the back would help?

After I get back from Virginia I will be going 285/30-18 front and 315/30-18 rears.

and this is a reason I got my 18x10.5's on order with some 295 bfg kdw-2's. Should help my 2nd gear no traction problems a bit and my damn launch...1500rpm is weak, but its all I can do with minimal spin.
Oh yea...winter doesn't help either. Last year at 345 whp in 20-30 degree weather and the potenzas, i couldn't pull out of a parking lot at 10% thottle without spinning.

I think you should look into a LSD first off. I had my ATS put in at the same time as my APS ST and my car never goes sideways, even with a hard 1st gear. I loose traction a bit but the car stays totally straight. Honestly for your saftey it is imperative. Also just fatten and sticky up the rears and you should be good man. I have 295 rears. Like I said so long as I am noth ard launching I have pretty good traction in 1st and almost no problems in 2nd (Unless it's a slick street or something)

What rims are you using with that? Width, offset etc.
Will those fit without rolling the fenders?

. They are a little hard to mount, but any descent tire shop can do it. Most of the cars on our website have this wheel and tire combo. http://www.violentracing.com/
