Default What's a quiet, free-flowing exhaust for TT ?

I had Borla TD, that was on the quiet side... not meaty enough. What I have now (Ted's custom one) is on the other extreme... too loud.

I'd like something in between that doesn't restrict airflow. Any suggestions?

Also, will putting in 3" cats help muffle the sound ?

I'm gettin the Fuji this week I think + dyno. I'll let you know how it sounds when it's all done. I'm pretty sure it will be just as quiet or quieter than the Borla though (which is what I want). Cops around here love to harass me so I went with something quiet and almost stock looking.

APS is very quiet, and flows very well. (2.5 dual, that is)

The DC Sports is full 2.5" dual and with turbo's and cats, it will be very quiet.

aps had videos of dyno runs with it on thier web site... It will be a little more quiet on your car unless you also have TPs.

APS Duals all the way

Pleasantly surprised me with the tone
nice and throaty and not overly loud, but definitely louder than stock

Nismo sounds really good but it definitely isn't quiet. Up until 3k rpms its not any louder than stock i believe.

IMO, nismo would be a horrible choice on a TT setup -

Marin (marluci7) has the APS true dual. Is his car running again? If so, you guys both go to the same shop.

Yeah I met Marin, his car's on the lift getting 10 billion RWHP put in, or something

Tomorrow Ted's gonna put in longer 24" resonators. Apparently I have 18" ones right now. He says that should tone the loudness down like 40%. That would be about perfect -- we'll see.

Greddy evo modded to a true dual. Sounds like stock even with test pipes.

Nismo isnt very good for FI, I gained 50bhp changing to the APS system, with a retune. Loved the sound of it though, far better than the APS.

Everyone says Nismo isn't good for FI but i don't seem to have a problem making power with it. Well see once the new motor goes in. I guess i see why people think that, because of the muffler and the bends and i guess a straight shot muffler allows minimal resistance (backpressure).

they think that because it is highly unlikely a single 3" exhaust flows like a dual 2.5"

hey,

The aps exhuast was great... looks like stock and sounds really nice... nothing but good things about it...I took the aps exhuast off because it didn't have the flow i needed for my 600 rwhp mark.. so i changed it to a custom SP 3.25 inch dual exhaust... Now that Im over 600..... 700 is the next rwhp mark... we will see....
