If it is brand new in box never opened I just can't see how a product warranty couldn't be upheld. It's the same brand new part in the box however you got it. I have had warranty work done on all kinds of differnt electronics and was never once asked for a receipt or place of purchase. I guess car parts are held to a different standard.

Did you missed the part of warning that this guy sellling cheap is probably not going to be able to deliver anyway? so if you buy a unit that can be delivered it will be from a ligitimate source.
I find it refreshing that a manufacturer is actually thinking of their distributors and trying to make sure their resellers will be around in the future. I actually like it when a manufacturer will only deal with shops and not internet sellers, people want the experience and knowledge and help from the shops but not want them to make any money on the parts.

I have also read in this thread how rare the utec is and theres no way this guy has 5 of them, and now I see a groupbuy on them were theres something like 12 edit (15)people in it already. Plus I read turboxs doesnt allow group buys. All kinds of misinformation going on everywhere. Or I am just confused

It may be a little off topic but I was robbed on ebay about 1 year ago so be careful. I bought the greddy twins from a ebay shop with 100% great feedback and never got them. The dealer answered all my e-mails until he received the money. BE CAREFUL. I only purchase from board sponsors now. Then again I was robbed by 350zforums also. So happy shopping

Like I said it is a pre- order format... there is no price discount just becasue the amount of people. It is basically a list of people (groupe) who are intrested and want to get so we take pre orders and once in stock we bill them. Which is perfectly fine under the contract!!!
No, in short you have no warranty unless you get it from an authorized dealer. What's more, Turbo XS knows where EVERY Z utec has gone to, and it will remain that way for some time. This party is claiming to have something in stock which they do not, and as such is selling nothing more than hot air.
As for anyone else, as mentioned already, availability on them is scarce at best, and NOT every dealer can get them. You can have money in hand for 20 of them - the bottom line is you won't get them, especially if you are violating even one of the TXS contract guidelines. The shops who either have, or had UTEC's in stock to sell were hand picked as being active in the 350Z market, as well as having a general UTEC knowledge base. There mere fact that you were a TXS dealer was no guarantee that you would be able to get a ZUtec on the first go around, nor is it any guarantee you can get them in the near future. The same held true when the WRX UTEC came out and when the STi UTEC came out. Demand far outstripped supply for months and months and months, and the dealers who were able to get them early on were hand picked and monitered by TXS. This is the exact reason why lining up the preorders for ANY new TXS product is an excercise in futility. You can have 50 preorders in hand - it means absolutely zilch to TXS, as they want to make sure the shops who actually get units to sell are the ones who can provide the after sales support that an engine management system commands. We too could have lined up preorder after preorder upon announcement of the UTEC - but did not bother for the simple fact that I knew from past experience with TXS that the mere fact that we had ordered 5, or 10, or 20 or 30 in no way, shape or form ensured that we would receive every unit we ordered. As such, a few close customers were able to preorder with us, and we filled those orders.
So, in short, the seller got called out. He now has a bull**** ad on Ebay, and selling an item he 1. does not have in stock now nor 2. will not be able to send when TurboXS reopens after New Years. As I said, the thrill of a good deal disappears long before the bad taste of a sour deal.

So like I said before people who are not Direct dealers will have a tough time getting this product.
It's a freaking car computer, not a nuclear device for God's sake. WTF is the big deal with these guys? It's not like it's going to save the world or clone Jesus. These guys must have a guy working for them that left the Rainbow vaccum company.
