If you will take the time to go back and look at some of the numbers that I posted in April '05, you will see the 50+ RWHP gains. I did the testing for Kinetix on the IM Prototype. Numerous comments on how I tested.

Basically, without a new tune I put my car on the dyno with the V4 and did 3 pulls. While the car was on the dyno and same tune, removed the V4 and installed the Kinetix IM Prototype and did 3 pulls.

When I received the Kinetix SSV for testing, prior to release, additional tuning and dyno pulss were performed. Results: 416.4 RWHP and 311.7 Torque You can do a search and see all the comments and dyno pulls.

I read all those threads and I stick to my comments. You gained 50whp after you installed and TUNED the SSV. You can't claim 50whp is your retune, because you don't know what came from the new tune. Also I remember you only had like 330whp with a tuned vortech before the SSV. Most Vortech guys are seeing 380-400whp after tuning with the stock plenum.

There was a thread a few months ago were a member tuned his APS TT on the stock plenum and got XXwhp. He then switched out the stock plenum for the SSV and got XXwhp. His numbers with the SSV were lower than what he got with the stock plenum. He put of the SSV up for sale in the classifieds the next day.

GMan, sorry but this doesn't make logical sense to me. If I add a new part (SSV), and don't change anything, I would not be taking advantage of what the SSV provides.

Take my case : NA car. I add the SSV. Now it is lean, because the SSV allows MORE AIR. So is the SSV bad at this point? No, I have to tune the car, add more fuel (tuned the A/F ratios), and now I am about 14HP up...

When you add a part, aren't you expected to tune the car to take advantage of the new part (more breathing, cams, whatever) you just added? If I go now and add cams, wouldn't I be expected to go tune the car again to take advantage of those cams? Or just leave alll else unchanged and complain that the car runs like crap?

IMHO, every part I add changes the profile of the car. Very few parts can just be added, HP shows up, and thats it. Even the spacers and upper plenums change the A/F ratio, just that the change is small enough that the ECU can compensate. When you go outside those parameters, you HAVE to tune.

Do a search. A bunch of SSV owners dyno'ed their cars and the a/f came back richer without changing anything in the tune. From all I have seen I am not convinced the SSV adds much power if any. Everyone can believe what they want, but I believe the numbers. You can't say you gained 50whp with the SSV if you installed it and retuned the car at the same time. How can you distinguish what gains came from the SSV and what came from tune? You can't.

If this SSV is a winner for F.I. cars you better believe Kinetix would be posting all the Hp and Tq. gains it has/can (verified) delivered as Objective Quality Evidence instead of the many threads that have been written to date which leave the readers scratching there heads to try to figure out what this mod does if anything..
