Default *** Rob's JWT TT Install!!!! ***

My JWT TT Install

The wait is over I finally have a JWT TT kit installed Thanks to Vinny Ten and Nick @ Performance Motorsport !!! The car pulls instantly; originally it was too cold in the North East for me to get a good feel for the car… Last week we had some very good weather, Needless to say I took some time off from work and really got on the car… It is awesome!

However I’m running TT’s on a bone stock Z…. It needs exhaust!!!! I’ll have the exhaust issue taken car of in a few weeks…. At least we know that the JWT TT kit on a bone stock Z is good for 348whp and 349wtq on a Mustang MD Dyno! Another PM customer on this forum produced 413whp with Injen SES1985 exhaust and test pipes on the same Dyno; both cars running @ 6.8psi!!!

My immediate future mods are… New Injen 2.5” True Dual with Ti Tips (on Order) / Motordyne 5/16” Spacer (on Order) / 2.5” resonated test pipe (put aside)

Long term Future mods: VTR motor…. VTR as in (Vinny Ten Racing)

Special thanks to Vinny, Nick, Damon, Frankie, Mike, Andrew and Gary @ Performance Motorsport! And Adam @ Z1-Auto!

You car looks sick!!! I wish there was a local dealer for the JWT kit. That is a great looking kit and the numbers are even better. Enjoy.

I was lucky to enough to see Rob's car in person and it looks sick!! Didn't get a chance to go for a ride because they were still working on it at the time. I dropped my car off at Performance Motorsport today for the JWT TT kit on my G35 coupe. Can't wait to get it back which they said will be the end of this week!! Thanks again Rob for the hookup. I'll let you guys know how it works out.

I know everybody says a Mustang dyno shows lower numbers so how does it compare to a dynapack dyno that Jim Wolf uses? Would you go as far as saying the dynapack shows an extra 30hp or is there not much for a difference?

Nice to see JWT kits are getting some love on the East Coast. We have had great success and hope you the best of luck as well.

Warmly

Yea from what I've read I feel the same.... Dynos vary from dyno to dyno... But most say Mustangs are the most conservative.... There supposed to be the best load based dynos out there as well.... Which is safe when tuning...

A year ago Jason from MRC Dyno'd the first APS TT kit in the country with test pipes and Borla TD Exhaust... And it dyno'd @ 388whp 8psi Just to give you some kind of scale... But that was over a year ago.... Nov/Dec of 04

I do recomend an exhaust system with this kit.... With my car at top it feels a little restricted.

The Mustang Dyno is rather conservative with its numbers due to the sheer amount of parameters needed. For example... Vehicle weight, Speed@50mph, Altitude, Humidity, Temperature, Vehicle model (track model, enthusiast, convertable), etc.etc... I could go on and on. I couldnt put an actual number on the difference between the two dynos, but dyno manufacturer's look at ease of use as a huge selling point, and the MD is def. not easy to use if you want accurate numbers. I could not tell you about the dynapack, because I have never worked with one, but maybe someone else has some input...

By the way speed@50mph means, the amount of horsepower required to sustain a given vehicle at 50mph.

Thanks,
Nick

Thanks for the compliments...

As far as not going with APS, my main reason was service... I was going to get the kit from an APS shop and have my local shop (PM) install it... The APS kit is one of the best on the market! However what if it were missing something or one of the lines were too short... I did not want to be stuck... Say if I were missing one of the induction pipes, I would have go back to XYZ dealer... Then order it and it would end up coming from Aus... How long would that take? Were as with TN or JWT they are domestic companies a lot different... Greddy and PE have presence here... APS does not...

The funny part is my kit had a damaged part from shipping... Jim himself got the part from his inventory and shipped next day air!

The other thing was the Sport Z magazine article, All the editors loved the JWT Kit....

Wow! That looks freakin bad a$$!!!

Sorry if this is mentioned someplace already but how is it people are getting this kit when the last I heard they were still trying to get a CARB number before they release it? Did I totally miss the thread that says this kit is now available? If so, did they get CARB approved?
