I know how you feel!!! I'm supposed to get mine back this Friday and I can't wait. It better not rain that night, that's all I have to say.

Yeah I better check the weather too lol. Whats worse is that mine has to go right back up on jack stands because I have a ton of other things I need to install by my next track day.

Maybe the housings and wheels on the JWT turbos are better matched than some of the other kits. I had a chance to check out a JWT turbo side-by-side with an APS turbo at Z-Car Garage and there are visible differences.

Right now in Summerlin which is about 40-45 min. from the base and Speedway. In 6-7 months I will be living in Aliante which is only 10 min. from both. Just shoot me a PM whenever you come down here.

Too many variances. Not cheating, nor a science. Think about it, Not all VQs are created equal. Some motors make more power than others. We have seen stock Z and Gs make 20 WHP differences N/A.

Note: Two different cars, both JWT kits. Both no motor mods at all and no exhaust.

1. 2003 Stock G35. 18 inch NISMO Rims
2. 2004 Stock Z. 19-Inch SF Challenge Volks

The G35 pulled 35 more WHP than the Z at the exact same boost level and the exact same fuel octane. The same DYNOJET.

The difference, time of day, number of runs, rims, and a 20-degree difference in outside temperature. There are too many factors to name, here are a few to take note of:
• The rims alone can make up 10-15 WHP for sure - The lighter the better.
• Brakes and the size of rotors can make a difference.
• Altitude can steal power as well. Sea level dyno compared to Rocky Mountain dyno run...Can lose up to 20% power at high altitude. Seriously...

Maybe you didn't think of some of these factors, yet they are TRUE. A variance of 10-15 WHP should be spot-on with all components being the same in the exact same weather, rotating mass weight (rims), and altitude.

So far all the JWT TT I have read about put down 410-430RWHP @ less than 7PSI. What other kit has done that. That is 2 PSI lower than the other TT kits.

DBZ33 - IS THIS A BAD THING?
Sorry, this may be a bit long...yet it is neither miracles nor coincidence.

We are assuming you are talking about high compression motors -correct?

As for all JWT kits, I can ONLY speak for our experience at VRT. Let others answer this for their own situations.

FYI: Our built motors DON'T make 400-430 WHP and only make around 360-380 WHP on less than 7 PSI because of lower compression pistons. You can make more power at lower boost on higher compression motors majority of the time. We have to add low compression pistons on built motors so we can turn up the boost to <14 psi. If this sounds elementary, I apologize. However, I don't assume everyone on these boards knows about built motors and compression.

1. Please consider we always use lightweight wheels on our VRT cars. Good for 10-15 WHP. Probably the first thing I would tell anybody with an NA car to buy is a lightweight wheel to make more power.

2. San Diego, CA is at Sea Level or close to it. Good for power.

3. Fuel - Many of the times we use 110 octane on peak power runs for safety. IMPORTANT: When we have a BRAND NEW CAR right off the showroom and has less than 300 NEW MILES and our customer wants their car in one piece, we use 110 octane on peak power dyno runs to protect our clients new motors.

4. If the car has a Det-Sensor and you are running 110 octane, for the most part you avoid detonation AND will make more power.

5. Dynos differ in results. We use Dynopack and DynoJet, which may vary in results and power.

6. Timing is needed to make power. Each kit varies for sure. Pulling out timing for each kit can vary depending on the fuel supply and detonation. And AGAIN more timing makes more power; YOU need a very careful balance between timing and power for the motors sake that is for sure. Too much timing and dirty gas can be fatal.

7. Most of our VRT cars do have exhaust and cams. making more power.

8. Air Fuel ratios and make or steal power. Many kits don't allow you to easily address air/fuel...

9. Many kits detonate more than others, which steal power.

10. Good tuning makes more power.

At VRT we do not simply install JUST A TURBO KIT. We concentrate on overall performance so power to weight ratios, motor power, and rotating mass are all factors why our cars make nice power at low boost unless they are low compression and built motors, and of course we are looking to turn up the boost to <14 PSI to make even bigger WHP and Torque.

So once again, I cannot answer for others, yet these are a few issues we address at VRT using the JWT kit when making power.

DBZ33 - Hope this addresses your concerns.
