Default Oil Cooler with a Turbo ~ Anyone done it?

I am thinking about adding an oil cooler to Zippy this spring, and I was wondering if anyone has done it with their Turbo set up (single or twins)

I don't know any one that has done it with an FMIC. One would need to get creative on where to place it and also how would make sure that there is always positive pressure to feed the system to you do not have ANY oil starvation issues. would you use a system like an Accue Sump?

I'd really like to hear from y’all. Tell me how you did your install or give me your ideas or thoughts on installation techniques.

Thanks

you could put it in the tire well, like where the aem CAI goes. oil cooler is always a good idea if you track the car.

btw which model are you going for?

I just mounted a Oil cooler this last weekend and I have a Twin Turbo w/ I.C. I bought the Stillen Oil cooler, yet had to mount it differently than the directions. The kit is really well made and comes with everything you need (well except for some 10mm self tapping screws that I used) I mounted it to the aluminum bar under the bumper on the drivers side. The hardest thing to do is cut the bumper, yet that wasn't even that hard. Just plan on spending some quality time under the car since it is a tight fit for the sandwich adapter and the hoses where your oil filter is.

My shop would highly recommend putting a Oil cooler on any FI'd Z and in fact includes that in the bill so it can be installed at the time of the kit.

LIke mentioned mine is in the drivers wheel well, with a plastic channel created from ABS plastic that runs from the side of the IC to the Oil cooler.

Can you post some pictures of the location and install?

Heres some information that may be useful. Only difference is that I mounted it on the driver side since mine has the power steering cooler on the passanger side.

Since this web site won't let me post the link:

Look under
350ztech(dot)com (since this web site won't let me post even the name)

under tutorials page

Has a link to oil cooler install with I.C.

AAM installed mine. Mounted on the front bumper, drivers side next to the intercooler. Custom built using Fluidyne oil cooler. Power steering cooler is mounted on the passenger side.
