Default More JWT TT Dyno Numbers!!!

This time on a built motor with 8.5:1 compression, cams, and the whole bit. This was on the "street tune" at 8.5 PSI and 91 octane. As you can see by the enourmous writing that VRT put on the graph lol.

The "race tune will be somewhere between 14 & 15 lbs. with 110 octane.

Specs on the car can be found in this thread...

Thats awesome, nice power, a little dead uner 3000rpm but thats cuz of your low compression after that your TQ has a nice large climb.....congrats on getting everything up and running.

Thanks Alberto! Yeah the low compression definately plays a part in the numbers. 8.5 is a very low PSI for my motor. Eventually it will be turned up to somewhere between 14 & 15 lbs. on 110 octane!

Those are pretty good HP numbers for that boost level, but you are dead in the water below 4 grand compared to the other JWT dynos out there. Your peak tq seems to be low as well and not as uniform throughout the RPM range.

The compression ratio should not impact the low end as much as you are seeing. The cams maybe the reason as they might not get flowing until the mid to upper RPM range.

I think its the combination of both the cams and the 8.5:1 compression. We will see in a few hours when the high boost dyno chart comes.

Injectors better be bigger then 440s to make power at 14-15 PSI...

I just got word from VRT. The car dynoed around 475whp at 10 lbs! I am anxiously awaiting the dyno chart. They aren't going to do the 14 lb. run though. They want to get on the road to Vegas so I can have my car back, plus Jim was a little uncomfortable turning up the boost that high since the new motor parts only have a few hundred miles on them.

Here is the new dyno chart showing the originial pull at 8.5 lbs and the 10 lb. run! They decided not to do a 14 lb. run since the internals only have a few hundred miles on them.

Wow, its only gonna get better from here.....awesome numbers at 10psi, you hit 300ft/lbs much sooner now.

Ok about the injectors...They are in fact 440cc injectors, but here's the deal. The JWT kit uses a fuel pressure regulator that basically is like forced induction for the fuel system. The injectors used are also rated a little differently than normal so they are acutally a little bigger than 440cc. Jim Wolf and VRT have tried a number of different injector sizes and the JWT kit likes this setup the best on their built motor cars. According to Jim and VRT these injectors never go past 80% either so there is nothing to worry about.

That is all I know about it and I am no fuel systems expert so please don't rain down on me with all of these super technical questions.

Congrats and thanks for posting. I love this kit and it seems like VRT is the place to do it.

How is the car traction-wise?

Holy S**T!!!! I just got a call from Scott at VRT and he gave me the numbers on the race gas tune. I am so excited I can't even wait until I get the chart to post the numbers lol. It was a 13.5 lb. tune and peak boost was 14.1 lbs, with 110 octane. Are you ready... 532.6whp and 626.3wtq!!!! I can't wait to see the dyno chart.

Obviously I wont be staying at this tune. Last time I drove my car it had 246whp and a full interior lol. They are tuning it back down to 8.5 lbs so I can get used to that and burn 91 octane. Then eventually I will go to 10 lbs. I doubt I will ever get up to the 13.5 lb tune that gave these numbers, but its nice to see what it can do.

Very nice numbers... I have alot to look fwd too... I guess you have two maps set up one for 91 and 103.. How are you switching between maps? Are you just turning up the boost via boost controler, when you have 103 in it? Or is it something else...

I actually will have 3 different maps. One for 8.5 lbs and 91 octane, one for 10 lbs. and 103 octane, and one for 13.5 lbs. and 110 octane. Aparently there is a computer program that controls all of this. You plug in your laptop and and upload the new map. Then there is a manual boost controller. VRT is going to teach me how to do it.
