F/I on a 65K mile Z?
I'm thinking about supercharging my 2003 350Z. I don't have the money right now, was planning of saving up but can someone shed some light on whether the car can handle F/I at 65 miles. Right now I have 45K. I don't drive it too hard, I floor it maybe once or twice a day. With a little spirited driving every now and then. I've read that the VQ35 was built to run around 200K miles but obviously with F/I it wouldn't last that long. Would I be making a mistake in purchasing a S/C at 60 - 65K miles?
Thanks

Perhaps you should rebuild your engine and have a experienced builder check all the seals. I'm sure at that age, a lot of the seals maybe worn down. F/I just puts stress on weakened parts.

i have 40k now and my car runs great knock on wood...... but im no proffesional..... im gettin rid of my car in a year or to no matter what the miles are....... if i were you i wouldn't rebuild the motor, its not worth it, your gonna spend a **** load of money and the car wont be worth n e wheres near what u have into it........ i would try and find a used supercharger and run like 360 to the wheels, that pretty quick.......

The MRC car had like 80k miles on their car when the put the APS TT kit on it. I dont know what they are at now, but that was like a year ago and they didn't have problems. Personally I'm shooting to get my TT kit on by the end of '06, and I've already got 85k miles. But I'd rather have piece of mind so I'm just going to rebuild the motor at the same time.

I would not reservations of installing an FI kit on a high mileage VQ35, as long as a leakdown and compression test is done, to determine the overall health of the motor. But a bone stock motor with 50K'ish miles, properly maintained, will likely show little signs of weakness.
