^ Yes But I did some custom modifcation to the turbopipe back, so the headers could clear, those headers gave me ALOT of hp with the TN kit!!

You might see about 10whp peak from the headers, but the turbo will spool much later.

No, I meant later. In my own experience - full boost with headers = 3900 rpms, full boost with stock manifolds = 3200 rpms. You also make power sooner throughout the powerband. The only advantage of headers is typically slightly higher peak whp, but you pay the price for it in the lower range...

Thats odd. I talked to turbonetics on the phone the other day (dont remember who I talked to), but they told me that the headers would help the turbo to spool sooner.

Headers should, more even exhaust flow and less retriction usually means more power sooner.

That's odd, and not fact. I actually talked to Brad from turbonetics before my install was complete and he predicted higher peak power and more delayed spool time with aftermarket headers. This proved to be absolutely true. Ask some people that have the kit with headers and see where they hit a full 8-9psi.

I didn't post in this thread to give lesson in physics or thermodynamics (I'm not saying I'm by any means a physicist, either). But, imagine the exact same volume of water being pushed with the exact same pressure through both a large diameter hose and a small diameter hose. Which hose would you expect to expel the water with greater force? Also, aftermarket headers radiate large amounts of heat. The stock manifolds are a thick cast design and hold heat very well. Heat = better exhaust flow and a more efficient turbo setup. Also, aftermarket headers have very thin walls and typically were not designed with a turbocharged setup in mind, which could lead to failure down the road.

Go ahead and install them yourself and see. Or, you could take it from someone who has run headers and stock manifolds and experienced it first hand. With the stock manifolds you'll be at full boost roughly 700rpms sooner, and will also have a much smoother running car with less leaks and rattles.

note: I had DC sports headers with this kit then changed back to stock manifolds.

Well this is gonna suck. Its going to cost me about 400 bucks to switch from the crawfords back to stock, if I go TN turbo.

I used to have Stillen headers with T-metics kit. Like Taurran said, it takes a little longer to hit full boost then stock headers. But my Stillen headers rubbed so I took them off. You will have some how modify the downpipe or the headers to get it fit right.

brock, we can put your stock headers back on.....I've got some thermal paint that has to be baked on in like 3 steps, good to over 2000*, we can put that on your stock headers too
