Talking Kudos to Performance Motorsport!!

First off, I wanted to say I brought my car to Performance Motorsport in Long Island, NY in January to get the JWT TT kit installed on my G35 coupe. I mentioned this in an earlier post but for those who missed it I'll just briefly explain. Damon from PM did the work on my car and it was topnotch. Just from watching him work on the other cars I had complete faith in him because you can tell he loves what he's doing, this wasn't just his job. He worked on my car like it was his own. I got the car back on the exact date they promised and the car was running flawless. After a few days however, I developed a squeak. Squeaks and rattles are expected when doing this kind of install. I was aware of this. I called Nick, the sales guy over there and he assured me it was no problem. He just wanted me to bring the car back. After they fixed it, the problem came back again, unfortunately. I was disappointed at first because I started to think it was one of those problems that was always going to come back. Squeaks are the hardest thing to fix sometimes. For those who don't know, this is Vinny Ten's shop. Once he found out that my squeak came back he called me personally and asked me to bring the car back. He said "If the car didn't come in here with a squeak I don't want it leaving with a squeak, please give me a chance to fix it for you." He also went way out of his way to make me happy and got me a rent-a-car for a few days. He wanted to have his guys drive my car around for a few to make sure that squeak didn't come back after they fixed it again. To me, that is amazing customer service and should not go unnoticed. They had no obligation to do this but he wantedto make it the easiest on me. Most shops would brush you off or just tell you that squeaks are expected when modding your car, because they don't want to bother. I want to thank Rob from this board (1G-350Z) for leading me on to this shop. I also want to thank Vinny Ten and his crew, Damon, Frank, Mike and Nick. I got to watch them work on some other cars and their work is amazing. Vinny Ten has a team of perfectionists and it shows. I highly recommend this shop for their work, customer service, and just their overall ability to follow through on a job and make sure it gets done from start to finish. If I'm not happy, they're not happy, and they clearly showed this. If you guys live in the Tri-state area definitely stop by the shop and checkout some of the work they're doing. To conclude my story, my car is running perfect, no squeaks, rattles or anything. I could not be any happier. They gave my car back with confidence knowing that the next time they saw me at the shop is was just to checkout some of the projects they're working on or to talk about what I want to get done on my car next. Job well done guys!!!! If anybody wants to check out my car and see the work they've done, feel free to contact me. I think Performance Motorsport might have a dyno day or some type of get together soon. I think Rob (1G350z) will post the info if he hasn't already.

Have you raised your rev limiter? Are you on stock internals? What does Vinny Ten think about raisint your rev limiter on a stock internals, F/I VQ35? I read that he was emphatic about not doing that. I read that he said most of the blown motors was because of raising the rev limiter on stock internals.

Thats an awesome story....hats off!

This is my favorite line...gives me the warm and fuzzies.
He said "If the car didn't come in here with a squeak I don't want it leaving with a squeak, please give me a chance to fix it for you."

That is awesome customer service, especially giving you a rental car for a couple of days.

I'm honestly not sure about how he feels about raising the rev limiter. I would say he's against it because he never mentioned it to me. Everytime I talked to him about raising the boost a little bit higher he was more for test pipes and an exhaust. Both of which I don't have. He said there's no reason to raise the boost when you still have safer options to explore like those. My car is totally stock with just the JWT kit for now. Like Sharif said, my hat goes off to these guys too. They bent over backwards to make sure everything worked out for the best, and it did. s

Sounds like 90% of the shops out there could learn a thing or two about these guys.

Instead of raising the boost, it would definitely be a better option to explore the more defficiencies in your setup, otherwise you are just bringing yourself one step closer to the edge.
