All I wanted out of this was a cleaner tune, more consistent boost control, and no boost taper. Didn't want more than 510-520 whp so that is what I am being tuned to.
Maybe Im confused here..Is this with the APS Extreme Turbo kit??It should make way more than that no?Or am I missing something here..

You are confused, he runs a standard APS kit + built block with the APS extreme fuel system. His goals arent crazy so why say "thats it?"

Congrats, sounds like you may end up with around 550whp.

I agree the numbers don't seem so low and with 2psi more it should add at least 20whp.

The thing I find funny and this is not a flame, is how a lot of the APS guys are doing what they flamed the Greddy guys for doing......piecing together there own kit.....fuel systems (although in Zivman's case he went to the Extreme APS fuel system), larger injectors, UTEC, FCON, etc.

Numbers sound great Ziv, sure you'll have a cooking motor when you get it back.

We got some decent numbers, but we pushed my clutch a bit.

Tuan said he got the car to 530 hp and 530+ tq at about 14 psi. He wanted to tune to one more lb of boost, but the clutch would start to slip. that is understandable considering it is rated at 525 tq at the flywheel. Tuned with an HKS Fcon Vpro and HKS EVC5

My motor is a very basic shortblock:
Arias 8.8:1 CR pistons
Eagle rods
ARP head and mains
stock heads
stock cams

This is the APS base kit with:
APS big fuel system
Crawford plenum
10 lb forge actuars
APS 3.5" test pipes
APS 2.5" exhaust
Koyo radiator
oil cooler

I have been running them for nearly the entire summer. For the most part, the exhaust sounds the same. At idle, you can hear the exhaust pulses a bit, but really there is no change in the exhaust note or volume

Huh, somehow I missed you were already running them. Have you picked it up yet and how's the increase in power feel?

Then that explains it, I misread and thought he was using the APS Extreme TURBO kit, and making 495 whp near maximum boost, thats why I said "thats it", considering that turbo kit is good for much more HP...
Its nice to know I can always rely on you Alberto to correct me in every single thread

We are still working on what we will be doing. Looking at an Exedy D-core twin - due to availability

I had planned on getting an ATS twin, but have been hearing VERY mixed reviews about the ATS clutch setups. Some love them, others hate them.

That's because even though APS claims they can get 500+ out of their kit, some of us have run into problems trying to get that power(running out of fuel on their fuel system, figuring out the dark secrets of the Unichip and dealing with the stupid wastegates that get stuck sometimes even after you change out springs). I would love to take my car to APS have them work that magic but shipping costs are prohibitive. I thought I would've been happy with the out of box power but like Darth Vader I got corrupted. Should I have gotten a tuner system? Yes but I didn't think I would do more with the car and they didn't have a tuner kit out then. I'm not complaining and I still love my kit and I'm happy that they are looking out for the people with higher power goals.
