Speaking of weapons ever fire an AR15? 10 of 10 from 600 yards open sights...

Blah, Yet to see an AK assault rifle that accurate with open sights past 300 yards. I fired a AK-47 at 300 yards and could barely do 11 of 15. With an AR-15 I can pop 15 of 15 all day at 300 open sights in slow fire. Rapid fire I used to hit 8 of 10.

 

do you know what an AK 12 is?

Thanks. That was my best and consequently favorite line to shoot from in the Marines. It was a B target so basically it was from the gut up silohuette but at 600 yards open sights its kinda hard to see. Sadly there were people far better then me at rapid fire and from the kneeling position at the 300 so everytime I tried for the Marine Corps shooting team I got my butt handed to me at the 300. From the 200 I usually did 13-14 of 15 slow fire. 8-9 of 10 rapid fire. From the 300 I usually did 3 of 5 slow fire and 8 of 10 rapid. From the 500 or 600 I always did 10 of 10 in the prone.

Yeah, from 500-600 it was always about having the sights dialed in properly rather than actual shooting prowess. I was a rifle coach at the range in 29 Palms for a short while. While I didn't actually compete, I was there for some of the big competitions and it was certainly impressive.
