So you have a core program?

also do you think super or turbo is better for the AT. mind you this is a glorified daily driver so i want reliability. no whenever i post this question in the normal forums the turbonetics guys trounce everyone with their sheer volume of numbers and tell me how much the supercharges suck and how they are no more reliable than their turbos.

The gradual curve of an SC is much easier on a 5AT than the powerblast of a turbo. I'm having great fun with my ATI Procharger...

Sharif provided the upgraded Vb for my 5AT GReddy TT, as well as tuning, UTEC install and dialing in a higher rev limit.

Very pleased with the results overall. She doesn't hit the fuel cut as much and does shift much, much faster. You will have to acclimate yourself to the little "bump" while upshifting from 1-2 & 2-3 and downshifts during hard braking....but it's a small trade-off IMO.

The last automatic we did was an APS ST G35. The customer didn't do a valve-body or torque converter upgrade. It seems as though daily driven/street cars are holding up just fine so far.

Sharif's VB upgrade seems fairly priced as well though. With the total amount spent on going FI...I don't see how the extra money for upgrading the VB could hurt. It's definitely worth it.

The problem with the stock VB, is that it's pretty common to bounce off the rev limiter due to the very slow shifting engagement. Even at 360whp, in "D" we are bouncing off the limiter in 1st and 2nd with the stock VB (Greddy TT).

It's not so much for "holding up" that i chanhed my VB, I did it because at WOT with Procharger at 7 psi I would bounce off my REV liimter almost every time in the low gears. Of course you can up the REV limit with a TS reflash, but the original VB just shifts too slow. Sihifts with the upgraded VB are like 1/4 of a second faster, great for improving 1/4 mile times !!!

SGP valve body works great on my Z and I'm sure Sharif's will be just as good.I also put a tranny cooler on and would recommend it if your going to drive the car hard..

Sharif,
We need you to get your tranny guy to upgrade the clutch packs as we will all be needing them soon (3rd gear) for me

My tranny guy has been very impressed with the OEM clutch packs. He did mention, that the sooner you install the VB, the better. If you put the VB on, at the same time as introducing the forced induction, he has seen the tranny's perform flawlessly well beyond 500whp.

You will recall that several shops had bad experiences, when L10 supposedly installed "upgraded" clutch packs, that were actually stock. I'll keep searching.

My tranny guy can locate cores for us to use, but we need to know which VB you have. There are two different types. One has a computer on top, and the other does not. If you want us to give you a core, they are usually $150.

Will a PIC do to tell the difference? I don't want to take it out and then have to go looking for transmission fluid. Apparently, since there are "no cars with more than 100K in Panama" the Nissan dealership doesn't stock any... Can I maybe get some from you guys with the VB upgrade ?

I got just got the LVL10 VB... plus the engine is just being finished and installed... rods pistons bolts... all the goodies to make it near 14 - 16lbs of boost safe! I'll let everyone know how I feel about the 5AT with 500+whp
