Default Checking your plugs

How often do you guys pull your plugs to inspect them. I was thinking at each oil change interval.

How long do NGK Iridiums normally last on FI set up?

Not sure about the correct interval for checking plugs, but I used my stock plugs for like 15k miles and they still looked good, but I put one step colder copper plugs in there and they have been in there for about 8k miles. Since they are copper, i'm going to check them soon but I expect them to be fine.

I usually check them after 2 oil changes, or 6K miles. After 6K miles, they look nearly brand new if the tune is correct. Doesnt hurt to check at least one easy access plug (cylinder #1) just for peace of mind. I usually throw them in the trash after 10K miles, even though they can last much longer.

LOL...leave a message! We get about 50 calls a day, but we answer and return all of them. I do have plugs in stock, if you need anything, just place the order on the website. THANKS!

Hey Sharif what should the gap be on the plugs for my setup?

I usually use factory gaps of .040-.044. Out of the box, the NGK's are perfect. Tighter gaps arent required, since our OEM ignition system is very robust, with little chances of misfires.

When your engine starts running rough, or misfiring, you'll know its time. Plugs are so cheap, that I wouldnt even consider running them more than 20K miles. In theory, they will run for 60K miles.
