There is some interest in this so i decided to do a write up. the Hose clamps i used were Pi-Thon clamps from www.ZEETOYZ.com. The only modfication needed was on the TN intake piping between the MAF flange and the Throttle Body flange. The clamp on the MAF flange and the clamp on the Throttle Body flange were of perfect size and the clamps tightened without any problems. The clamps over the silicone couplers and TN piping were a tad bit too big or shall i say the piping was a tad bit too small. To remedy this i used F4 tape. That is what we call it in Avonics. the name came from the aircraft it was first used on or so i am told. I am not sure what the name is in the private sector. The tape is actually quite interesting. it won't really stick to anything but itself although it adhered pretty good to the silicone. When stretched, the heat created causes it to stick to itself. it gets real tight and has tremendous heat tolerance. I lined the green line over the bead of the piping so i could place the clamp correctly over the bead alot easier. Here is a pic.
Next, place the clamp over the tape and tighten till snug. Make sure to put the side with the internal compression ring toward/on the flange. You should not be able to move the clamps back or forth or spin the clamps once they are appropriately tightened.
Voila!! You have a great looking set up!! No more ugly clamps with huge bolts protruding to the sides!! The polished clamps go extremely well with the black crome TN piping. If you have a polished OEM plenum or an SSV, your engine bay will look look leaps and bounds better after this install!
I know not every one can get a hold of F4 tape. I am not sure what other tapes out there would be good for this. Possibly 3M 33+ electrical tape or maybe a silicone coupler slightly bigger than the TN ones. Cut the slightly larger slicone coupler in half to have two and use each half to make up the differrence in diameter. Just an idea.
