I suggest the APS TT which is very reliable.
Since your goal is 500whp you should be still fine with a stock block, several people are including myself.

the abs kit is about $7300, install is about $3000. Clutch, Exhaust and so forth is another $2500.

If you want to do the build motor right I have calculated I will need about 15k just for that....$10K for the long block and $5k for the other upgrades

hope this helps
I would not feel comfortable saying "you should be fine" at 500 rwhp on a stock block. Of course I am biased since that is where about my motor just let go at. There will always be examples of people having more success with their F.I. Z. Just know that at 500 rwhp you are definately playing what I would say are some pretty long odds over any considerable time.
Build your motor from the start with F.I. if you want that power. It is way cheaper than what I am currently looking at.
Thank you very much for your service sir for the great people of this country.

Do you guys agree with me? From a purely economical standpoint, a short block and a ST will accomplish his financial and power goals. He CAN get to 500 rwhp SAFELY and still be under his 15k budget. With his requirments, I think this is the way to go... Now, if he wanted more power....I agree... 15k probably wouldn't cut it. But I think he's being more then reasonable if he goes the ST/small block route. imho.

It would be pushing it. Maybe talk to a few shops and pray for a good deal. I know I just spend over 17gs for my setup and I still have no built motor. of course i could up the boost and make 500whp but Im not comfy pushing it that high unbuilt. No single kit whether TT or ST straight out the box will give him 500whp. Also account in the other things you will need ie gauges...plus the install for those. clutch/flywheel. exhaust of some sorts. all that added on to the lets say 2500 turbo install can add up quickly. But definately talk to some shops and see what can be worked out. its worth a shot for sure. I do know for sure that you could get something done for under 15gs but under 500whp, plenty of Turbonetics ST kits making at 400whp.

Ok on to the more important part of my maybe otherwise useless post haha!

Thanks for what you do and for fighting for our freedom! You have all of our support and wish you the best!

With a proper tune & a built engine....why couldnt you get 500rwhp on a ST and still stay under 15k? I apologize if I implied you would be 500rwhp out of the box, what I meant was.... tune, TT, built engine (short block), labor, and related products could be done under 15k...yes, it would be pushing it, but I think it's possible if you get a few deals here and there....

It could definately be done with some good deals and if he was to install the ST himself. ST is a lil bit cheaper to install and easier. I wish I could have gotten a built motor, sure would have made me feel better but eventually i will get one. I would like to see what happens with this thread to see what he ends up with!

This is my Z there are many like it but this one is mine.
My Z is my best friend. It is my life.
I must master it as I must master my life.
My Z without me is useless. Without my Z, I am useless.
I must Race my Z true.
I must shift faster than my enemy who is trying to kill me.
I must smoke him before he smokes me. I will...
My Z and myself know that what counts is not what power we make,
the noise of our exhausts, nor the smoke we make.
We know it is the kills or victories that count. We will hit...
My Z is human, even as I, because it is my life.
Thus, I will learn it as a brother.
I will learn its weaknesses, its strengths, its parts, its accessories, its engine, and its VDC.
I will ever guard it against the evils of weather and theft.
I will keep my Z clean and ready, even as I am clean and ready.
We will become part of each other. We will...
Before Mr.K I swear this creed.
My Z and myself are the defenders of my city.
We are the masters of our enemy.
We are the saviors of my life.
So be it, until there is no enemy, no race, but PEACE.

Took that from My rifle creed, a lil omage to the fellow Veteran Z drivers. Welcome back, thankyou, and join the rest of us in modding the Z.

WOW I didn't expect to get so much response just yet.......Im actually speechless that this community has this much respect and support for us....from the bottom of my heart thank you, it's people like you all that make this beautiful country worth fighting for....so here is the story....as some of you know whom have been in theater aka Iraq...If you go onto post then you must discharge your weapon prior to going on base...this means when your convoy pulls up to the gate the round that is in the chamber of your weapon must be removed...so every time you come on post its the same routine...the Iraqis, whom arent as stupid as everyone thinks, watch us do this day in and day out....so thyey understand that this is when all of us are without ammo. So on the night of Dec 11th at approximately 2030 PM My convoy was returning from guard duty at a government building and the first vehicle (6 vehicle convoy) pulls up and discharges weapons, next vehicle pulls up and does the same, so on and so forth until my vehicle (the last one) finishes discharging out weapons so now we are a ll ok to proceed on base....as soon as my last soldier unloads his last round into the barrel, two RPG's, simultaneously are fired at the lead vehicle trapping the remainder of the convoy behind them. We engaged into a firefight and to make a long story short when your in a firefight, you normally can tell the direction of the fight due to tracers (lit up round) firing from front to back, however when I saw one goe from my right side to left i knew that they were flanking us. I saw the first tracer go infront of my and before I could even think that they were to my right side now, the next round hiut my knee. I was wounded by a ricochete off the roof of a humvee...the iraqis watched our routine daily and knew the best time to attack..i guess we learned out lesson the hard way

So price-wise:
ST=6k
or
TT=7-8K
Ckutch and flywheel=1.5K???
Engine build components=4K
Labor+Tune=4-5K
I have done my research and the prices vary so much b/c some are in car clubs and get insaine discounts, others are actual sponsors, and some utilize used parts......I want brand new, obviously the best deal i can find, but i don't "have a hook up" nor am I in a club (other than this website)....lastly I appreciate everyone s input

I'd personally spend that money to swap a RB26DETT in.

Stop recommending a swap like an rb stay with the VQ 15K will get you in the right places.

Glad to see you are safe, and if you want to see a VRT monster in person let me know and we can meet up and I will show you mine. You can shoot me a PM, and you are right there is no other company I would ever entrust my car to. You will be very happy.
