Nismo Competition Oil Pump
Why is the Nismo competition VQ35 oil pump better than the stock one?
And why in God's name is it $990.
Was anyone crazy enough to spend $990 on an oil pump and want to admit it? It says it has steel gears.... What is the stock oil pump made of?

The high output oil pumps are used for high revving applications. It has nothing to do with high hp or big boost. The nismo version can withstand higher rpm's than stockers. The REVUP motors actually have a higher output oil pump compared to the 287 hp motors as well.
it comes from a very rare Skyline R34 motor (not a normal one) with a case modded to be a direct bolt on for a VQ35. It's designed to flow consistent output at sustained high rpm's. As for those who need it, it's hard to say. All of the very high rpm cars I know of run it (guys revving to 8k and beyond)
Quite a few guys on the boards have them....but most of the guys that have them lurk the boards but dont post
