Yes, he (Mike S.'s ) Vision619 did opt to leave his CF Stillen hood on even after we removed his SC. Here is Mike S.'s (Vision619) car that we JWT TT'ed, and my G with the Stillen hoods along with a couple more of our cars with them on, I think they look pretty good.

My god I creame my pants everytime I see that yellow Z. I have never seen a better looking car.

There was a guy who showed up to a car meet in San Diego who did exactly that. He cut (with what I think was hand shears) a hole in his stock hood on his G35. the blower was just sitting there. Would have been interesting but the lines of the cut weren't even straight. Measure twice cut once was a concept he never grasped apparentely.

The G35 hoods are little more understated and seem to flow a little better.

I dont mind the cowl at all... but those stillen hoods with the faux scoop are fugly!!

I opted for the cowl only and not the entire hood. My Z is SS, the cowl is CF. I had to cut out a section of my factory hood for my S/C to fit through and the cowl went on top. This would give me the two tone look I wanted without wasting more money to get the whole hood in CF then have the sides painted to match the car. End result looks good. I am going to wash and wax her today, ill be posting up pics soon.

This seem to be the best solution. AND you get to keep the crash characteristics of the factory hood for the most part. I would be concernd about a carbon fiber hood coming through the windshield in a bad crash.

Send a pic....

A buddy of mine that saw it yesterday said the same exact thing, LOL. The front of the cowl wraps around like a clip which holds onto the factory hood, rest of it is down with 3m tape which once on there its a PITA to take back off. Another friend of mine that works for a race team here did the cut out on the factory hood using an air saw and sander. Looks perfect under the the hood.

I dont know that I have seen just the cowl on anyone's hood. I would like to see those pictures. I know the hoods were like $800+ when I got mine, but how much was the CF cowl?

That cowl looks a lot better than I expected it to look, do you have anymore pictures of it... there were only a couple of sort of weird angles of it and one really low angled one from the front.

What did the cowl cost? And did it come with a pattern of where to cut your hood?

Yeah, yesterday I saw a silver G35c with a gray (or cf) center cowl and it actually flowed really well on the car. Didn't look bad at all.

This has always been my problem with with the stillen blower. I would be sold on it in a heartbeat if I could find a nice looking hood that will clear it. There must be one out there that will work.

I never liked their hood for the Z. The one for the G grew on me, until I was able to get it along with the S/C underneath

Here are some pics that where taken of my Z in the mountains last week. Gives you a better idea of what the cowl looks like.
