Turbocharge or new GT-R, a decision for many 350Z owners

well, hopefully the Z won't depreciate so bad. If a Touring and Track model can be trade-in for about 20-25K, that reasonable. It would be sucks if the Z value is about the same as the Civic Si.

All the best,

First, the ideas about a GTR to Z motor swap are wishful thinking at best. The GTR's will be few and far in between, so I don't expect an overabundance of GTR motors in wrecking yards. Buying a brand new motor/tranny from factory will not make any sence, as our VQ is very much buildable.
Second, you can bet that the GTR will be sold a limited #'s, most of which will be spoken for before they even arrive to the US shores, so good luck paying HEAVY premiums to get one. The Nissan is not introducing it as a money maker, but as a halo car, I am sure that the Z has already brought more $$ to Nissan (through amount of cars sold and $$ paid to service them) then the new GTR will in it's enire production run. Flooding the market with the GTR's will remove the exclusivity. After all, Honda lost $$ on every single NSX, but boy, did it get recognition for it...
Thirdly, if you are willing to move into 85-100G car market (which I am sure it will be after all the fees, taxes, markups, etc are paid), then why not look at Z06's, Vipers, M5/6, AMG's, etc.
Fourthly, if you do spend this much money on a car, why would you want these Nissan greasemonkeys ******* with it? If I would buy that expensive of a car, I want it serviced at a station that is used to servicing expensive cars...
Just my opinion, I could be wrong, so please, don't flame me and call me a troll just b/c I did not wet my pants over the GTR while on a Nissan forum.
