super charger oil?
I have a procharger and i want to change the oil.... i dont want to do it myself, my car is in the shop today getting a belt titened and i want to get everything done in one shot, is there a diff oil i can use besides the procharger oil..... i obviously dont have time to get theres......
In all due respect, If the Procharger uses the engine oil for lube as does the Vortech, I hate seein a guy spend money and hassle getting the "specified" oil. If it is self contained lube then thats different.
I think the procharger oil is self contained. That being said, this saying comes to mind: "prior planning prevents **** poor performance"
If it is self contained, i suggest you use the procharger oil.

Order it from Procharger. Its not expensive and arrives pretty quickly for the most part.
BTW... There is an easy way to extract the used oil, that doesn't require removing the entire SC unit. I used a large 20cc syringe and a piece of small tubing, dropped it in where the dip stick drops in and vaccuumed it out. The dip stick is magnetic so any metal particles come out when you remove it. Simply clean off the dip stick, add the appropriate opil and reinsert the dipstick/screw. And your done. Voila...Very simple oil change for the SC.

This quote is directly from the Procharger website:
"The patented SC design eliminates the need for oil lines and punching a hole in the oil pan, thanks to an exclusive oil pump. This pump aerates the oil to create the oil mist lubrication required for the ProCharger’s precision bearings and gears."
Based on that I would use specifically their oil or at least call them up and ask what other brand of oil you could use as I am sure there are special characteristics and/or additives that are used in it to allow it act properly. They fact that the oil is aerated leads me to think that it is quite different than motor oil since aerated motor oil is a bad thing.
