Default Cleaning Vortech Oil Screen

alright, i know that there was a great thread on here concerning the best way to get to the oil drain/feeder/inlet on the blower - something about removing the left front wheel and wheel well and having access to it that way.

I have searched and searched and cannot seem to find the thread that talks about doing this.

Can anyone point me to it, or start a discussion on what all needs to be done with the oil maintenance on the blowers?
I know with each oil change you should unsrew the oil inlet and blow out the screen with a air hose.
What else do i need to know before doing this.

thanks

Well you basically answered your own question. Just remove the driver's side front wheel. Once off you can get to the wheel well liner which you can remove/move out of the way. Once you've done that, you will have the oil inlet hose staring at you. You can easily remove the hose and nipple for cleaning.

do you have to change to oil at the same time? I usually get an oil change from the stealership, but was just going to clean the inlet this weekend.

No problem in cleaning the inlet even without an oil change right?

thanks

Wow, I have not cleaned my oil inlet filter screen since my Vortech install. You guys think I damaged my Vortech blower by not cleaning it? And is an air compressor needed to clean the filter screen or is their another method? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

just change your oil like your would normally with the engine

I'd personally do it every 2000-2500 miles of regular driving if you're using regular oil with the vortech and even more often if you run the car really hard for extended periods of time often or track the car
