Why gauges on the pillar?
Hey, rice is nice. Ricey isn't negative, it's just ricey. What percentage of ricey type street cars have pillar gauges, ah 95% especially if turbo/nitro. What percentage of high whp older muscle street cars have pillar gauges, ah 10%. If you are 95% white, you're freagin white. Hahahah. That's some funny sh*t! I am just kidding. I think it looks like those ricey type cars and don't tell me that that's not the look those guys are going for. The more visible gauges they have, the better.
Xx, you are totally crackin me up. I am not pissed and you should not be pissed. I would not get pissed just as no one else should get pissed. I am having a great time and you should too.
synth, cleanly done. That one gauge is not overdone at all.
punish, I TT'd my 35th rev-up three months after purchase due to the shear slow a$$ness of these cars stock. Now built and, well, read sig.
What happened to the chilled guys with the "uncle bens" comments and such. It's all good guys. Just don't race on the street, RICEY!!!! Hahahahah.

Yeah I see the sig now. After pages I forgot who started the thread. I myself have Way too much into the car. Im realy only lacking a BBK and Half shafts, every thing else is done from engine to dif.
A pillar gauges aren't ricey. If you think they are, tell it to the countless domestics and all out drag/race cars that run them. They're popular because they allow easy readability while on the road, allowing you to more easily monitor the gauges while keeping an eye on what's in front of you.
What I would consider "ricey" is having a-pillar gauges on a crappy slow car with no performance aspects or forced induction system whatsoever.
You seem to have a skewed opinion on what is "rice". If you cared less about what others thought about your car and more about what is functional then you might have a better understand of what is truly tacky and what is not.
Then again, if you did care about functionality you wouldn't get flashy mechanical LED defi gauges with a 30psi peak when you're running nowhere near that.

Now that's good stuff
Unless you track your car, tune your car, or are in the mid to high 400whp range, I don't see why they are necessary. Cars are pushing 400+whp off the showroom floor and they don't have A/F gauges and such. Boost, yes. Well, they have stock professional tunes you say. Get one.
Speak to the masses, not the exceptions. People that drag or track their cars, fine but most don't. Most talk about it, put in all the gauges and safety 'looking' stuff but don't have the ball$ to get out there and do it. So I don't want to here what the dragsters have cuz most of these guys are not dragging/tracking their cars. Start a poll, do you track your car. Not have you, do you. Do you drag your car, not have you do you.

I just want to know what's going on with the car. Sure you can get a great professional tune, but stuff happens. People get boost leaks, the weather changes, sometimes something unthinkable like an injector might go bad, etc
I want the extra gauges and the A pillar seems like a good as place as any to put them. I don't want to replace the 3 gauges in the stock cluster because those are still useful ones anyway.

I don't care what others think about my car. That's why I went with the clean look. Most go with the flashy look. You high whp guys can convince me that you use these gauges and they mean something serious to you as minutes go by while driving, but if you're under 420whp or so with a good tune, then they simply just are not all necessary. If you are not tuning your own car, or in the 500whp range, you just don't use them as the minutes go by while driving. Now, one or two guys will say, "that's BS, I use mine constantly". Great, but most TN guys and such get them for the looks. Oh, I don't know what I am talking about. Okay, under 420whp with a good tune really needs all this crap. No, temp, oil pressure, boost, and A/F max. Get an oil cooler and don't worry about the temp. If you track your car, it's all open. You do what's necessary to see all vitals.

And don't bring in your crap about "This is my opinion" because quit frankly it isn't about your opinion so much as it is to how you see things is as "Ricey" and for you to call basically any F/I member on here "Ricey" was stupid and inconsiderate of you.... Think over tonight what is Ricey before you insult another member because of your ignorance....

Get over yourself, if you are going to start crying like a baby, don't read the posts. Be a man, take your thumb out of your mouth and skip over the thread.
BTW, I expect to be flamed for this, however I also expect some damn good entertainment from it.

Man, I couldn't agree more. Get some tougher skin huh. I'll have to go back through all of his posts and see what percentage of them are confrontational. This is the first one I have ever posted that has gotten anyone defensive. Sorry, not really. Should have better things to do than argue with ppl on a forum. Stop it already
