It's supposed to be one piece, connected where the copper coloring is. It's obviously not one piece anymore.

In addition to being REALLY REALLY expensive. That transmission is purely for race cars. Straight cut gears whine like CRAZY and are not something that you want in a street car.

I bet that transmission could handle A LOT more than 450hp. They just don't want to liability of saying that. Same thing with DSS's upgraded half-shafts, I have the level 2s and have A LOT more power than they are "rated" for with no issues whatsoever.

I use redline MT-90. You should not use the shockproof stuff in our trans, it will eventually ruin the synchros. Redline's line of shockproof gear oil is no designed for snychromesh transmissions.

See post #180.

PAR in Austrailia quoted me an entire new gear set and synchro's for $4200. My contact there is Sam Chalak. Ph: +612 9820 1100.

Also, it is worth noting that they also can make the gear set with standard or custom gear ratios.

I just sent Sam an e-mail asking if we could save any money if we coordinate a group buy on this.

FYI... I ran that Quaife transmission (in 5 speed form) in my 240Z and its fricking wonderful! It will spoil you something awful and make you look like a shifting God. And for those worrying about horsepower ratings, remember, the stock transmissions in the 350Z are rated to 300 ft. lbs. and lots of folks are pushing more then that through them.

Yes, all gears and synchros.

They can even do dog engagement if you would like, but this might be more expensive. Synchros are probably better for street use, though.

MT-90 is not one of redline's shockproof gear oils.

You're not going to have to worry about breaking a trans like that. They always rate them much lower than they can really handle.

Do you know if they use the stock synchro setup or their own proprietary synchro setup?
