Considering this tranny was from an 08, I am curious how it compares to teh original 03 tranny. Particularly the synchros and 5th gears. Doubt you have one handy, but it would definitely be a good comparo.
My original OEM 6mt from my '03 killed my stock engine back in the day. That definitely took me by surprise.

Thank you for the great pics.

Thanks for doing the hard work. I think tranny guts are a little more than most folks here are prepared to undertake. But it is great to know.

IIRC (if i remember correctly) the above is right, I believe the 1st gear syncro went to a 3 cone from a 2 cone, and the 5th gear went to a 2 cone from a 1 cone, some of other gears may have had the number of cones on the syncros upped as well.

The main difference between all revisions is different synchro setups. None is "stronger" than any other. The latest revisions are just prone to less synchro issues. I've been rocking the 008 for 45K miles now (20K boosted) and it has been fantastic.

holy old thread batman
I think shops have blown a lot of fears out of the water now lol.
SP lay'd down 1000+rwhp and went 9.35@158 on a stock trans (009 trans), stock diff and gears, just upgraded half-shafts, and a diff brace.

Although it took me a long time to bust 3rd gear. SP doesn't have that many cycles on their trans. It will eventually break the braising on third. I can pretty much guarantee that.

Yeah its bound to happen.
TQ really is what kills them more than power. Thats why the viper guys destroy 5th-6th in the Tremec T56's they have.
I need to check and see which run I have in my G. Don't remember if mine is a '04 or '04.5.

True, and that's what I've been saying since we initially took this trans apart 2 years ago.
