Default Type of oil

Hi guys,

I am in progress of ordering a new built block. I was just wondering what kind of oil do you use with FI applications? I have a 350z APS tt and am going for 650hp. Thx just curious

I'm not really trying to be rude at all, but for someone with a TT and going for a built motor it seems you wouldn't need to ask such a question. But anyways I would say Motul all the way.

Anyone ever try that Greddy oil? I was thinking about trying it but not sure. I am on RP now and thinking about a switch?

I am using 10w-60 for my tt kit, because my tuner said it would be better, and I know it is, but I have my doubts about thickness of the oil.

I would personally use a 10w40, depending on weather.

Presently I am using the Castrol 20-50w European full syn.
But any of the top racing oils should be fine. Mobil 1, Motul, Redline. But definitely go to full syn. For the investment in the built motor, don't diddle around to save pennies on lubricant. Especially with TT, the heat issues are of great importance in affecting breakdown of the oil,and the syn will withstand it better. If you are going to run the car hard, like on a track, you will always want to leave the motor running a few minutes after you pull in to help cool it further before you shut it down, or you can really bake your lubricant and reduce its lubricating effectiveness.

+1 on the synthetic oils. They have a much higher flash point over the regular oils and high temps are whats going to destroy the oil and make it less effective in protecting your engine. I use 10W30 Mobil 1 extended performance and change it ever 3-5k :P

I'd definetly use synthetic, but i think it's more important to change the oil often than to use some of the more expensive brands. Though I'm sure some of the more expensive brands help some depending on how hard you push things

though it seems people generally use heavier weight oil with FI
