I have no dog in this fight but just my 2 cents. Neither party is really bad in either scenario, it always boils down to communication and when miscommunication comes down to money it gets heated. It is always best in cases like these where it is a moving target due to unforseen expenses (used kits needing extra parts, core charges.........) to give the customer the worse case scenario and if things come in less they are happy but if they come in at the worse case they are prepared.

You can't compare final costs at one shop with an estimate from another because you don't know if that other shop would have also come in with the added expenses at the end. So as a shop it is best to always give the higher estimate and risk losing a customer than end up with an unhappy customer, let them be unhappy with the other shop.

If it was that much of an issue we would of never released the car to you until the bill was paid in full, you kept going on about how your wife would divorce you if we charged any more money on the card.
look i let $1300 go on the core charge you need to let this go.

You shouldn't be airing out a customer's personal business on a public forum like this, just doesn't look good on you dude. I'd be pissed...

Well if that serp belt was cracked and worn as irshad@grd said it was . The guy who did the install is responsible . When putting the belt back on , he should have informed the owner that it was bad and needed a new one . Or just gone out and gotten a new one . Its not like they are hard to come by or have to be ordered . Run to NAPA and get one they are cheap and easy to install .

I know what is involved w/ these SCers as i owned a vortech SC'd 2000 maxima before i bought the Z. I did the install myself and i know it is a b!tch to take that thing on and off.

Fyi, the customer replaced the pulley himself right before the tune. There is alot more to this than I would care to mention.
