It's not electrical as far as I know (but being as that you mentioned a vent, it could be) You have a common problem amongst the Z's which I had fixed as part of my detune. It's basically a hose that deteriorates due to normal particles in the air, the ozone. It starts to crack and creates places for fuel to leak out.

The principal to fixing it is easy but it requieres dropping the axle and I belive teh fuel tank to get to the hose to replace.

i say go for it, and do a write up on how you did it. this could also work as a security feature when they break into your car and pop the hood to cut the horn wire. its funny how this whole thread kind of strayed away from the topic but i guess some people have to get there post counts up somehow.

I'll do a write-up when everything is said and done but I am not sure if I will go into great detail.

I am all for paying a little extra a year to have a turbo kit on....extra fees are BS but its better than the 1700 you had to pay

When I was in Idaho my county said all you had to have was a muffler.....no cat even lol I sometimes came home from the track in open header mode Cop at my military gate asked why the car was so loud and I was straight up with him....he laughed and told me to hook it up the next day and that was that

In Cali I have been pulled over for a number of BS reasons ---- tint too dark (it was legal tint I paid to have professionally installed) Turn signal too fast (yeah that was funny) Frequent lane change (merging on the 91 from the 110)

Most of these cops were looking for a reason to harrass me....I just played it cool and for the most part was let off scott free

While dropping a friend off in I think Fullerton a bike cop pulls me over for "modified" exhaust.....I show him my Greddy paperwork, carb approval and he hands me a fix-it ticket.....guy was an *** hat cop who didnt want to hear anything

Pissed me off to go to the court house with CARB paperwork in my hand and PAY MONEY to have them rectify it.....I was innocent and still had to pay money

No decibel meter, no proof ---- issue a ticket and the money flows in no matter what

Even when your flying legal Cali cops are still dicks and will still waste your time and money because they can and until we change it it will continue that way.....support SEMA!

What do you mean you are paying extra b.s. fees? Fee's for what and paid to whom? Is there something I don't know about?

The places that you mentioned are places that I live and work around. I live in Gardena and I use the 110 S to get tothe 91 E 5 days a week. I also work on the border of Anaheim and Fullerton. Where is Palm Beach?

Anyways, you are right about the cop being able to issue a ticket despite your paperwork and then going to court to atleast pay a Court Administration fee. Are those the fee's you are talking about?

I believe I mentioned it on this thread already that a cop can still give you a ticket despite paperwork stating it is legal. Their thought is that if you are legal, oh well, you have nothing to worry about.

I wonder what would happen if you refused to sign the ticket when they gave it to you. That literally stops the whole process and I'm sure if you got arrested (big risk) then going to court could land the police agency responcible in deep crap if you TRULY were perfectly legal.
