I am not certain why anyone would have a problem with that, having selected dealers to handle F1 equipment. I mean, who in his right mind would actually approach a shop for a turbo install when it is common knowledge that the shop has not had any prior knowledge nor experience with F1(s)

As, I have said before that the weakest link in a race engine are the hands that puts it in.

If the manufacturer cares at all about the end user, he will not make the mistake of flooding the market by handing out his product freely to any and every tom, dick & harry in order to make a quick profit.

i didn't say Jim's idea wasn't smart.. however i am saying the illusion that the kit is the safest and the best for a stock block is basically what it is.. an illusion..

i believe the JWT is no safer than the other kits.. well maybe the greddy because the of the emanage timing issue.. but otherwise..

Jim has a survey going.. and he is controlling the results

You are right it puts everything in perspective. My 9 year old nephew is in the same boat... I wish your cousin the best.

It goes a little beyond that, JWT also keeps things under control by the fuel management they chose to go with since it can't be tuned so people can't mess it up, if the kit came with a piggyback that was tunable I am sure more problems would be seen as people played with it.

Allowing only dealers to sell/install not only ensures he has qualified people doing installs but also creates a loyalty from the shops as they know not every tom/dick/harry will be whoring out the kits just to make 10 bucks as it can be seen with other manufacturers so from a shop's standpoint it is a refreshing way of operating.

like i keep saying.. i am not saying what Jim is doing is wrong.. but its in my opinion the kit is no safer than the APS, PE or TN kits... its just in a controlled environment thats why it appears so

We are upgrading fuel line, injectors, actuators, exhaust, and i have the Utech to tune it with.
Bottom line, they are great kits; and a good shop with experience and great track record can help you make the best decisions on mods. to support your choice/s.

DIY, can be fun but only for the experienced. And I don’t mean just to install, as there are other factors that governs the overall performance & reliability factor. Furthermore, without the proper tools and calibrating equipment it could become a nightmare. But if you have the money and the time, anything goes.

Seriously, I know of dealers that had initial problems with the APS kit when the kit first made its debut, during an installation the screw went right through the fuel tank; just one of those things. And others like nicking the radiator fins during install, etc.
