No it's a three step, There one step may take half a day. My car was there for two days... They actually put 10 hours into it. Charged me for 8 @ 50. per hour.

I 100 % agree with this...

For the record, we have installed way more kits on stock motors than built ones. Yet no car or kit are perfect and with a loose oil filter anyone's motor can fail. Hell, we have a race car just recently built whose Oil Pump failed. The motor didn't blow, just had to pull it apart and rebuild it to replace bearing and insure no serious damage when she lost oil pressure..

SH$T happens. She is back on the road and running great now.

Note:
I would guess only 20% of our customers ever post here or would even visit this site.

So, this is good for people putting this kit on a stock motor because you do not hear about blown motors all the time.
Go for it and have a good time boosting!!!!!!!!!

By the way I havea built motor and a JWT kit also done at VRT!

I have personally installed and tuned a JWT turbo kit on a customer's car.. the timing advance in the box that comes with the kit, is super conservative.. We actually ran 89 octane in the car for the first 200 miles, without ANY knock whatsoever. The kit is very well thought out.. down to custom wrenches to help with the install! Looking at the area under the curve.. JWT's base kit provides the best powerband out of any Z kit that I've seen a dyno chart for.

Am I a die-hard JWT fan? I guess you could say so.. What I find humorous, is that 90% of the people that hate on JWT, have NO idea how much they contribute behind the scenes.. Mike Kojima (who works closely with JWT) and Clark Steppler, are probably 2 of the most brilliant Nissan tuners in the country.. Anyone who has ever met either one of them will tell you the same. JWT has always bent over backwards to help us out with custom projects, which required parts that I NEVER would have been able to source in any reasonable amount of time if it wasn't for Clark/Jim.

One thing about JWT that I have always respected, is the amount of time and money that they put into R&D and the amount of thought that goes into thier parts. Look at thier camshafts.. hell.. the JGTC guys run cams produced by JWT.. Nissan contracted JWT to build camshafts for the Nismo line.. You don't pull those types of deals unless you know what the heck you're doing.

Anyone with half a brain can build a turbo kit.. but, building a safe, reliable, and effective system requires more than your run of the mill fab skills. That being said.. our customer's car hasn't had a single lick of problems in the last 20K miles with the JWT kit installed. He drives it daily.. about 40 miles.. drag races heavily, and beats the crap out of it. On a MT ET Street tire.. the car went 12.20's @ 115mph.. spinning the tires a little off the line. And although I cursed and b*tched during the whole install, it was definitely worth it.. At least the engine didn't have to come out..

Oil filters can be faulty; I had a similar experience very recently. I was too lazy to do the oil change myself and took it to my usual local dealer; everything appeared in good shape. But, thank goodness I have the habit of checking my oil dip stick before starting the car after long or overnight layovers, and I noticed that my oil level had dropped mysteriously; topped it up.

Took the car back to the dealer and placed it up on the lift, the oil was literally seeping out from the oil filter; it was tight but still leaking. After replacing the faulty oil filter with a fresh one, the leak stopped.

That is exactly how I feel myself, after the years of research, experts I've spoken to and the daily driver with the JWT's I've met. Most interesting bit of information Travis, Thanks man......makes me feel that I made the right choice myself.

There is a reason for being a loyal customer, a die-hard so to speak, it is the service & product that makes customers' return.

I was pretty much the one of the first APS ST's here so I had the check valve issue which took quite some time to diagnose bc no one in my area was familiar with the kit. Japtrix became known much later down the road and I never really got a chance to deal with them. GRD did the install in IL and I drove back down to FL. So it wasn't something where I could take it back and have them fix it. Everything has since been figured out..so there shouldnt be any issues anymore. Anyways it was fun I boosted 10k miles before selling it. It is still running perfect even till today. I keep in touch with the owner...
Sorry I meant to say 380 whp and not 360 whp; it was too early in the morning when I did that reply.

I got about 4k with the kit on a stock block, and had no problems. Also I beat on the car daily but haven't taken it to the track yet but so far its going real good.

LOL....look who's talking.....it is actually Friday 9:07 AM here in Austria.....I just finished breakfast....late for a meeting Been out of the country almost a week now.

No JWT TT VQs here in Vienna, but they do have 350Z; never heard of Infiniti/s here.

More European & Italian sports cars here; Ferrari/s, BMW/s, MBenz/s & Porsche/s. I saw a red vette though.

Would you believe it, the EU is pushing a speed limit to 80 mph for the German autobahn, because of global warming. Of cos, BMW is pissed, because the new models have low CO2 emmisions. Reducing carbon footprint in the EU countries is a major drive.

And, in the US we have speed limits because of highway fatalities....go figure

Completely different motivations, someone must be messing with our heads.

BTW, did you hear that ford sold aston martin to the arabs.

It really does help. I am looking around, searching , for the best possible kit for my needs and wants. I thinks its good to see the scope of build that some have done to see where and how far I or others need to go.

Thanks for the post guys

Keep them coming

I've got a JWT TT Kit installed by VRT at 5k miles on my 06 Z. I'm now at about 9400 miles, and haven't had any problems except for a broken coolant Y pipe.

I do have a slight issue when the car has been running for a while, or when it's really hot out... I seem to get a lot less power when boosting- I don't know if this is because the air is hotter, and therefore less oxygen rich when it gets to the motor, or what.

I'm going to get a true dual exhaust installed in a little while, as soon as I get the money.

I don't have any figures on the car, as it hasn't been dyno'd yet

Give me a call so we can take a look at the heating issue.

Let's dyno when you can free your schedule. Simple baseline to see where we stand...

Sounds fun.

Yeah, I haven't had time to get down there... been so busy with work. I will call you up when I've got a free moment.

I'd love to get a baseline on the car before doing the exhaust... can't wait to uncork this baby.

JWT's base kit on my customers car.. put down 412whp and 388wtq yesterday, on a Dynojet 248c.. this was at 6.5psi of boost.. stock injectors with JWT's FMU, and piggyback. The car has Borla exhaust and test pipes.. it is a 6spd car as well..

Temps were hovering around 85* in the dyno room, with roughly 70% humidity.

Travis, those are some great numbers, and they don't surprise me at all.
