1) 6spd or Auto?
2) How much power you want to run?
3) what is your style of driving? Highway Warrior? Drag Racer? Canyon Carver?

Should hold up fine....without power shifting it. Put the clutch in, shift smoothly, but delibrately, and you should be fine.

yeah just watch out for 5th gear.. well my 5th gear seems to go pretty often.. so i "shift slower" according to the dealer... works so far..

drag racer? if you don't launch hard you should be fine.. otherwise look into upgrading your axles if you like to dump the clutch

Dont powershift or launch without preloading the drivetrain and you should be fine. I have many launches on slicks on stock axles with no issues.

The idea is to take the slack out of everything before the launch, so when you leave the line you are just finishing the motion and aren't shocking everything (driveshaft, rear, axles) due to slack in the system.

Auto: hold brake and give some throttle to load everything
Manual: start slipping the clutch prior to launch while on brakes

I hold the cluth about 1/4-1/2" away from the point of engagement prior to launching. Even newbs with DSS Level 5's on DR's or slicks who hold the clutch to the floor and dump it out will have issues, they spend $1800 on axles and think they can do anything to them.

so an upgraded clutch /pressure plate is really all you need to modify on the stock drivetrain? I've got the same question basically, but I'm only going for 380-400whp.

So if I drive more "carefully" I dont need to buy stage 5 axles. The standard axles can hold the power when launching with slicks. Its for 600-700 hp. I have the twin clutch and flywheel from JWT for now. What clutch (triple) does fit the jwt flyheel? thx

Its not our axles that have the weakness, its the inner CV joints, they are crap.

Then why are mine still in tact? I race my car harder than 95% of people on these forums, I stand behind the fact that our stock axles/joints are strong, I launched as high as 6000rpm's with 400whp/tq and I launch on the TT set-up, no issues...dont be so quick to diss the stock parts!

Im not dissing on the stock parts so much as the misconception that people who don't preload will blow out axles before the joints.

Ive seen both happen in person with Z/G's and seen many cases online with no preloading, so kinda hard to pin point one or the other as a weakness.
