But, yes, I have an APS TT on an 8.6:1 motor running with the Forge actuators. Ever since the upgrade to 2.8 my boost controller has worked great. I am running in open loop mode.
One question I do have, though, is why would someone select open loop over closed loop? Is there a 'better' choice? It seems like it is just offering two different ways to acomplish the same thing.
Of course closed loop would give more accurate boost control year round in changing climates, like Ohio. Are there any drawbacks to closed loop? It seems like you lose a tad bit of control with closed loop vs open loop.

Oh, no, wait, I did purchase some stuff from Forged Internals - 3 sets of spark plugs.
I've talked to both Julian and Sharif on the phone on several occasions.
I personally think, not that it is any of my business, that both Julian and Sharif bring all the bad comments on to themselves through their posting styles.
I haven't bought ANYTHING from either Sharif or MRC. In fact . . . many of my purchases was private dealings between myself and other members of this forum.
I respect both Sharif and Julian, I've heard alot by talking to both of them and reading what they have to say. I would trust my car at either one's shop because they both know what they're doing and seems to take good care of their customers.

got my setup working today! Initially, Ihooked up the wastegate lines on the wrong side of the BCS.
I had some issues to say the least!!!
anyway, after a quick call to Jermain @TXS, he said I have to have the lines a certain way. so, I switched 'em.
I set up both wastegates to fit -4AN braided line, intead of the normal rubber vaccum line. I modded the TXS BCS to accept the -4 lines too as the BCS has some odd pipe thread. It is not 1/8NPT. I forget what it is, but I had to do some searching for the right fittings.
Then, I drilled and tapped the upper manifold to add a dedicated vaccum source to feed my vaccum manifold.
It is really cool looking. I used NOS nitrous lines for my setup.....those inductrial crimps are designs to take 1000+ psi! they'll handle my 9 psi without a hitch!
so, I set my car up to run in "closed loop" boost control. I was shocked to find out that a value of "50" had me hitting 9.5 psi. "50" is the recommended starting value in the UTEC manual. I also read through the D-TEC manual to learn more about how it controls the BCS....I am assuming that the UTEC boost control is programmed in a similar manner as the D-TEC. The D-tec manual states that as long as the boost is within 0.3 psi of your target, it won't make any changes. It turns out the UTEC is the same way. I never dropped below 0.3 psi of whatever my peak value was on any of my logs.
I need to mess around with it some more, but I am very happy with it. It was fun to look at my boost gauge; you could see the needle quivering ever so slightly as the UTEC regulated the wastegates to keep the boost where I wanted it.

I think the 50 is the reccomended GAIN value, this will control how fast the turbos spool up.
That happens to be the preset gain value too.
Jermaine had said to me to try out a value fo 200....that it should be close to 8 psi. I quickly found out that my overboost fuel cut-off works on the UTEC.

I had some issues to say the least!!!If I can get some nice weather today I might switch to closed loop and see how that works out. Where did you end up setting your gain?
I left my gain at "50"; I haven't played with it yet. I have the "wastegate closed" value at 3 psi right now. I was an arbitrary value I chose to start with. The manual recommends setting it at 6 psi below your target psi.
I'm not sure how the value in the boost maps is determined. just for your help, my car hold steady at 4.9-5.0 psi on wastegate springs alone. a value of "40" brought it up to 7 psi. "45" came out to about 8psi. "50" put me at 9.5 psi.
when I was testing out my "45" map, I was doing a pull on the road, and the boost was solid as I watched the gauge. all of a sudden, when I hit about 4700, the boost rocketed up and the overboost kicked in and killed power. I was frusatrated that maybe the BCS /UTEC was F'ing up. I pulled over and went in to check my map.....somehow I accidently left a value of "100" on the 4750 line (from 50% -100% TPS)......HOLY crap! so, that's why the boost spiked...at least I know that the BCS/UTEC is doing what I tell it to do.

I don't know if it is more accurate or not, but I don't have to worry about blowing off a rubber hose anymore. The AN fittings are awesome!!! I am going to step that hose and fitting up to a -6 next week....summitracing is my friend!
Another trick for getting vacuum lines is a throttle body spacer. The one I use has three seperate vacuum ports that you can use. One to my boost gauge, one to my UTEC, and I have one more to use for whatever (BCS?)

did you buy the AAM spacer? I thought about that one, but I prefer to have the vacuum source from the plenum. there probably isn't a difference, though.

Yeah, it was the AAM. It fits in after the throttle body, so it is the plenum vacuum/boost. If it was before the throttle body, it would be different, but after it is good.
