Default UTEC boost controller

I am gathering up the last few parts for my build.

I have read the thread about UTEC controlling boost, however, I can't find it now.

Are most tuners able to get the UTEC to control boost now?

Will the new GUI UTEC (to be released soon) be able to control boost?

Does it do a good job?

or-

Should I just get a seperate boost controller?

Thanks

PZ

It does work, with version 2.8 firmware on the UTEC.

Yes, I dont have the price in front of me, but I think they are about $120. We have used it on two Greddy cars. It seems like it allows a max of an 85% increase in your base pressure. Overall..not bad...but not the best we have used.
If you call on Monday, Sandy can ship one out to you, with the instructions on how to wire it up.

$99 shipped in stock, plus you get a $15 gift certificate towards you next purchase with us , call monday.Comes with instructions, and I have some base maps..
Here are some results of boost mapping on the dyno. We are the ones who figured it out, and we have run it to 18 psi, dropping off to 16 psi, this was an actuator spring issue mostly..Here is the original thread we started.

Works just like a boost controller, with alot of the features of the high dollar JDM YO! Boost controllers on the market.
You can keep the wastegate closed below a certain boost level, raise and lower Gain and ramp up of boost, Mapping the boost is dependeant on TPS VS RPM..Works great. The best part is with a simple flick of the switch the utec will change your map and boost settings!!

What exactly did you figure out? Just curious. The instructions you posted were created by TurboXS themselves, and the wiring and setup was always correct. It just took the 2.8 upgrade to actually make it work.

We tried for hours with the older firmware, and it never worked...with 2.8 it works.

Sharif, Im not getting into it with you, but we were doing all the testing for them prior to the UTEC release. I was Jermaine's test mule. We were the first ones to get the 2.8 software, and we were the ones to make it work properly first, and map boost. End of story..Stop baiting me,

Thats fine MRC...you were also the first one to say that the boost control worked on the pre-2.8 version...when it didn't. GTM and FP spent numerous hours trying....and it never did work. With 2.8 it works. If you want to claim you were the ones that figured it out..that's fine too.

Don't worry about it......MRC and Forged go at it all the time on here. They are both great shops, and both take care of their clients.......They just don't get along, that's all.

I am looking forward to trying out the UTEC BCS......I have had it sitting here for a few weeks, and I converted it to -4AN fittings and also the wastegates. Now, I'll have -4AN stainless braided lines for both the top and side ports of the wastegates. Nice secure fittings, and no worries about melting either!!!!
