Default Vortech s/c plans

Hey everyone I am planning on going with the vortech s/c in a couple of months and I wanted to make a list of what I am getting to see if I am missing anything. Before everyone tells me to search I have and I have read Muzzys install and a bunch of sentry65's posts
Heres what I plan on getting
-Vortech tuner kit
-Utec
-AAM fuel return
-Walbro 255 pump
-5/16'' motordyne iso thermal
-440cc injectors
-Oil pan spacer
-3.12 pulleys with a Gates belt
I already have a Topspeed Pro-1 exhaust and test pipes. Im hoping for around 380 to 400 rwhp. Thanks for all the help in advance.

Dont know what a Uteck is, and didnt know that Walbro made a 225 pump, maybe a 255 would be better

Other than that consider a clutch/fw, should run well.

im still on stock fly/clutch.. its based on ur drivinng. also SC dont have as much torque as TT or single T around 330-340 in this setup so I would worry about that if it does slip later down the line

While the stock clutch/fw is fine on your set-up right now, I doubt anybody would think my recommendation on looking into that isnt valid. 400whp with 330ft/lbs or 400ft/lbs is much more than factory levels. Also, you are assuming he wont be racing the car hard if he does that stock clutch is gone.

JWT clutch and flywheel and you're all set... $700-$800 for peace of mind and a setup that's more than capable to handle the power and abuse should you decide to beat on it.

No worries Muzzy, we both offered opinions, seems as if for the OP who doesnt plan on racing the stock clutch should be fine

Clutch/flywheel is a very good idea. I am at 305wtq and mine starts to get spongy by the time I hit 4th gear on a hard pull. With 330tq I would imagine its going to go pretty quickly.

btw does anyone know if running 5-10 laps consecutively around like a 2 & 1/2 mile roadcourse as hard as you could blow your motor if you were runnin 400 whp? just seems like all that power would pop a hole thru a cylinder or somethin if you ran it REALLY hard for like half an hour straight.

If the tune is safe, why would you think it would blow the motor?

I think it totally depends on the tune, the fuel octane, and cooling provisions on the car as well as maintenance and how on top of things you are

you could have a great tune, but if you go racing with regular pump gas with no extra cooling etc, you can hurt just about anything. It's better to have overkill on things than to risk it without it and end up hurting something

Ya, I wouldn't go on the track without any race gas. Just gives you that extra protection. Btw, I'm talking about on a pump gas tune.

I trust my VQ to the guys at AAM, they tune it real good and warrenty their work. Mike will tell you if he is not %100 sure about the setup.

there is a member on here that has the Vortech and runs the 9psi setup just like mines and tracks his car. he has a video of it tracking someware here.
