quick vortech installation question
I am in the middle of a Vortech install and am having a lot difficulty with the intercooler piping for the driver's side. The middle piece. The one on the throttle body is easy of course but the one that attaches to it. It goes between the ac line and the frame correct? And the slightly longer side where the bend happens is top-side correct (on that piece)? It looks like I am going to be here beyond midnight at this point. Still have the injectors and fuel pump to go.
why didnt you do injectors and spark plugs before anything else? It is much easier without all the extra crap in the engine bay. For that pipe that goes between the engine and the ac line...the flat side goes to the metal ac line you had to bend out of the way. I installed it backwards and it makes my intercooler a little crooked but fits regardless so I havnt changed it. You just need to force it in really. Wedge it between the rubber ac line and force it down there. It WILL touch both sides but that is how it is supposed to be.

^^ what he said.. For me it was a PITA to put that part of the piping on
I ended up being able to force it in lol. Now all I have left is the injectors and the fuel pump to go. I have a decent map for Vortech with 440cc injectors so hopefully the I can skip any prolonged tuning until the 3.12 pulley arrives. On a side note, that pain in the butt pipe is so damn closer to the supercharger and one or two of bolts as well as the sc is damn close to the belt as well. I am guessing this is normal?
Ok now I have issues with belt on the stock pulley. The belt rides on the lip of the pulley. Has anyone ever encountered this before? I've tried putting spacers on different bolts but it still does the same thing. I am thinking something is a bit off causing this issue (physically not aligned). Damn this sucks.
check the vortech install manual and make sure you have the right spacers on the pulleys. If memory serves me they only have washers...if you are having belt alignment issues with the sc and the pulleys on the vortech bracket the you have installed the pulleys wrong. Do the pulleys on the bracket line up with the stock pulleys? If so then you installed the supercharger pulleys wrong.
