Default blown ecu

i ve been having problems with my car, so i took my turbo and everything off and took it to the dealership. they said my ecu was blown. does anyone know what could cause this???. i had the unichip with aps st. the dealership said they dont know what can cause an ecu to go bad... and of course its not under warranty, cause they can tell the wires where played around with.

I've never seen anyone on this forum post about a blown ecu. Did you drive the car to the dealer or have it towed? If you drove it I'd guess the ECU isn't blown. And how does the dealer know you played with the wires if the APS ST comes with a PNP unichip? Sounds like the stealership is trying to rip you off. If your ECU is indeed blown get one from a junk yard and have the dealer reprogram your keys.

Exactly what kind of problems were you having? What the hell does a "blown" ecu mean? I assume you had some issues, but by saying "blown," it sounds like nothing was working with your car. Is it possible the issue is the the tune of your unichip?

i know the unichip is plug and play. but they saw the wires, where i spliced into for oil pump that comes with aps st. so they said cause of that they cant warranty the ecu.. the ecu shuts off and goes into safe mode where it acts all weird and **** like it will go wot by itself out of nowhere or my rpms wont go up at all and weird ****. they said the ecu is blown/fried they dont know why or how... and they cant do anything unless they replace it and go from there...

also i forgat to ask will a g35 rev up ecu work on my 06 rev up. and will an 05 rev up 350z ecu work?. im asking this because i found 3 ecus from 05 rev ups and g 35 rev ups but nothing for 06.

^ did you talk to your tuner? I would have them diagnose the problem before a dealer touches your car.

dealership wants 1000 and isnt sure if thats the problem or if my ecu will blow again and then i will have to pay another 1000 again for another one. my turbo has been out for like 4 months now trying to figure out this problem. taking it to the dealership multiple times. im taking it to a junkyard though that only works on 350zs and g35s and supras so that should cost cheaper and have parts laying around that i need. also im coming back with a tt setup after i fix my problem.

Any revup ECU will work on your car. You have to get the immobilizer reprogrammed and your keys at the dealer though, but it should be cheaper than a 1000$ new ecu, considering how many Zs and Gs are made there are plenty of wrecked ones. You should be able to get another one for around 200-300$.

Which dealer did you go to? Does anyone know if a 05 rev up ecu will work. If so I think I can get one for you.

me too.

Shop around, even if you can not find a used one I know you can find a new one for way less than $1000 just make sure you get the right one (year and model).

Maybe the firmware was just corrupted, see if a reflash will fix it.

Default Big Problem!!

Another ecu possibly blown... Supposedly my ecu went out today(stealership thinks it is blown).. Dont know how the **** this would happen.... I ran low on fuel so it cut off, filled it up 1/4 tank and it would crank but not start up.. The ecu is not being recognized either by my ecu reset tool.... It is now towed to the STEALERSHIP..

Any ideas?

Check fuses. Maybe the fuel pump circuitry or the fuel pump itself died. I know some domestic fuel pumps die if you run 'em bone dry.

How do you know if the ecu is actually blown for sure?

I did check the fuel pump fuse before my car was towed away.. It was good..
