Default Bye Bye C6 Z06 so long tranny

Im not to familiar with trannies, but my car will not accelerate in 3rd gear. Does this mean, my synchros or forks are gone? What would be the best option for me at this point? Are the 05 trannies more stout, than the 03's, 04's? How about 07's, do you think they would bolt up.

The 03 trans has been prone to failure. Best option is to install the series 9 trans. We can get them in 2 days if you need one shipped out. At the risk of looking like an opportunistic vulture...PM me for pricing.

What exactly is the car doing when in 3rd? Is it popping out of gear? Just revving up as if in N?

Ive had that happen when I stripped a synchro in my other car. Its VERY hard to bend a shift fork, Ive never heard of anybody doing it.

My 009 version sucked the first 2000 miles, very clunky, not smooth at all. Now its just as smooth as my 008 version which was butter IMO. Good luck, no powershifting!

Few months back when I grenanded the 008 version through a friend who owns a salvage yard. I bought a 009 version with less than 1000 miles out of a wrecked 06' Z. When switching from 008 or older to an 009, make sure you also buy the shifter support brace, they are different on the new ones. I had to modify my old one to work, and it does, but the gears all look slightly further down in the gate. Look up my thread for more info and pics.
