Default Oil cooler, is there a sig PSI drop?

Its summer time almost and the weather is gettign hot. I have a power enterprise fined oil pan and the car takes an extra quart of oil. The car runs great but after 1 hr plus of driving agressivly the my oil temp gets a little too high for my liking. so Im prepared to install an oil cooler kit (like a mini intercooler but for oil) in my car. Im geting the type that uses a sandwitch plate in between the oil filter. Im also usin the stock oil system to provide oil for my vortech s/c. so my question is.

-will there be a signifecant oil pressure drop when I install an oil cooler?
-part 2. I want to install the oil cooler in front of my intercooler but for a custome (no one els has it) look I want to mount 2, one on each side. kinda like this

IIII/------------\IIII
IIII--------------IIII
IIII--------------IIII

the "I" being the oil coolers. but wondering if the oil pressure lost will be too signeficant and ill be in danger. and if it drops too low is there anything to fix it? if I can only run one... I might make the other side my power stearing cooler. also im open to suggestions.

Thanks all

I have an oil cooler kit from ebay , with no issues , and my oil pressure was raised not droped , because if you reduce your oil temps you will get a higher oil pressure.
You always can raise the pressure whit a more viscosity oil ,like a motul 15w50.

I'd recommend using thicker oil. I've used valvoline 10-30 and switched to mobile one and the temp went up about 20 deg.. I'll be using royal purple or motul on the next oil change.

so the cooler kits dont effect the pressure much and if I need more pressure just switch to like a 10W40 ? im using mobil1 10w30 now. remember im going to use 2 oil coolers... and over 10' of hose. also if my oil presure is around 30-60 psi is that ok? b/c thats what im running now. also do I still need to change the oil every 3k miles? I know its a dumb question, but I drive allot and its like every 5 weeks I have to change. now if I use 7qrts of oil in my car with the new oil cooler kit + oil pan + the super charger will I be ok with less than 30psi as long as I have positive pressure and oil changes every 3.5k miles + ?

I don't think you need two oil coolers for your Vortech setup. I have the Vortech kit and am using only one oil cooler. Which is mounted on the front driver side right next to the intercooler. And it does the job just fine.

I've always used mobil 1 oil, but have noticed my oil temps lately have been higher the moment I did my last oil change with the mobil 1 oil I bought about a month ago...I didn't know about mobil 1 becoming semi-normal oil at the time

Anyway, going from the old mobil 1 oil to the newer (worse) mobil 1 oil raised my oil temps about 10 degrees with just normal driving.
My oil pressure also seems slightly lower than it used to be because the oil gets hotter.

I have a small oil cooler with my vortech and an APS oil pan that I fill up to the normal "Full" line on the dipstick

I'll probably try redline synthetic next

Over kill on the oil cooler with the supercharger, If you search someone already did a twin oil cooler set up with a C west bumper. Save some money and just get one.

I'm very happy with my oil cooler on my vortech. It's not as massive as some of the ones being run on the turbo setups and IMO it doesn't need to be since the vortech doesn't heat the oil up nearly as much

during the hot 115 degree AZ summer, the cooler lowered my normal driving oil temps from something like 205 to 190

takes awhile longer for the oil to get up to normal temp in the winter though

My oil cooler is the setup a member here posted for their ATI procharger with all the parts needed in a thread. In fact I have an extra sandwich plate that I'll sell for cheap if someone wants it. I somehow lost it at the time of install and ordered another. 5 months later I found it hidden in my garage

2 is overkill imho, but besure to get 1 that is an adequate size.

i too have the PE oilpan, and with the setrab cooler in place. i'm like 1.5-1.75qt more of oil over stock...

i didnt notice any oil pressure drop.. and my oil temps are nicely under control now.. its also very important that you have good ducting in and extracting heat out for all your coolers.. they are only as effective as the air moves thru it..

my oil cooler writeup...
