Also ------When you compress the spring and have access to the locks for removal, dont use your fingers to grab them, use a strong magnet, if those little rascals fall where they shouldnt, you WILL be pulling the motor.

+1 i would not attempt the socket method for removal with heads on car as the locks can fly anywhere. i actually made a spring compressor for the vq35 that makes quick work of spring removal and install.
