SS box was fine with me using 2.87 pulley with stock injectors. It produced 395whp on pump gas and A/F ratio bellow 11 at redline.
I know many will disagree with me, but I've been tracking this car (circuit racing) for a year with no problems at all.

sorry I mean when you first install the kit. did you have to break it in. like put some miles on it before you floor it. I heard very first crank up you should let idle for like 10 min before you rev it up or drive it.

Ideally, you should prime the oil system before letting the car actually start. What I mean is, crank the motor to get oil into the blower without the car starting. Then, start up the car, check for leaks and you're good to go.

Yes. I was still worried because I had to go to a Test Only shop. They just took the CARB # off the Vortech and asked what the hose was that came off the oil breather. ( I have an oil catch can). They looked under the car too, so they would have probably caught any aftermarket cats or test pipes.

How come you had to go to a test only place? Did you get pulled over?

Me! get pulled over???? hahaha No, They don't pull over old guys driving a modded Z. That is one of the few benefits of being old.
That is what it said on the renewal. Test Only shop. The guy there said that they randomly pic cars for a Test Only. It tested really well.

ok I have a 2006 automatic 350z, I was looking over the wire section of the online manual. http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/...s/4NZ218im.pdf .havnt got my kit in yet. Do I skip over section 10 and just do section 11.
And for the MOUNTING PLATE INSTALLATION do I follow section 5 or 6.
Sorry for the noobie question. but the 06 automatic is like unclear. since they said 2003- 2005 and then 2005 and Later “Rev-Up” Engines
are they saying 2005 and later and rev-up engines when they said 2005 and Later “Rev-Up” Engines
And I order the v-3 blower full kit if that makes any differents

- I recommend getting an oil catch can and get a checkvalve installed with it. It'll save you the hassle of having to clean oil from the inside of the piping and intercooler should you get some oil blow-by. It'll also prevent oil from going back into the piston chamber which can possibly cause preignition or detonation. IMO it's money well spent and not all that expensive in the whole scheme of things

Vortech owners, any recommand brand of catch can?? or any link would be good. I remember i saw one thread was talking about catch can with vortech setup, but i can not find it again.
Thanks.
