Hey guys. Is an oil cooler still recommended if you have the V3? I know it'd be good if you have the V2 since it shares the oil, but since the V3 has its own oil, will the engines oil still be impacted enough to warrant an oil cooler?

I've asked myself the same question so I've just installed an oil temp gauge and once I install my Vortech I will know if it's needed or not.

The oil that lubricates a vortech is different than oil that goes in a turbo.
The vortech oil just lubricates the gears and some of the bearings. On a turbo the oil lubricates a journal. The turbo is roughly 1200* verses a 200* vortech. I tested temps on my vortech wihle on the dyno and i also have temp gauges we use on race engines on the vortech. It never broke 300*. Huge difference in heat transfer into that oil.
Because of that you can run self contained oil in teh vortech. If that oil was getting super hot they couldn't use a self contained oil because it would cook the oil.

Well after reading about 30 pages, including the intro i have a serious headache and i think i also got diarrhea , but that could be dinners fault.
Anyways looking to step into this set up
have a 2005 g35 coupe ie revup
5/16 spacer, nismo headers, fast intentions cats and exhaust. I also have a unorthodox pulley set and car is tuned with uprev.
I am looking to buy the tuner kit and get the walbro fuel pump, 550cc injectors.
I am also looking to buy an upgraded radiator ie the koyo 53mm . Will this kit fit with a slight bigger radiator? After that i am looking at oil pan spacer and oil cooler.
This car will be used for track purposes. That is why i wanted to ask ppl with experience with this kit on the track what their experiences were??? heat? longevity?
I also wanted to ask people who are using uprev to tune how their experiences were going or have gone ???
Lastly i was going for the V3 sc rather than the v2. Is the v3 the route to go???
Thank in advance

quick question for Sentry or Binder
I have the T Trim on a Rev Up runing 2.87 pulley. I just added a huge IC and dropped a bit of psi.
what cog would help me gain a lbs or two? I have no idea what the TTrim is vs SC or my RevUp Cog (first Cog) vs the others. lol
im going to call Vortech later today but they are closed until like 11 or noon East Coast time.
LMAO!

weird you dropped some PSI. i didnt lose any. Must be a poor IC design. but ya. 2.60 pulley with the GTM tensioner mod on a 34/28 cog setup would be ideal for that blower.
